Though if given a good enough squad he can win a grand final followed by losing a couple before gradually grinding the club into the ground.

Play on was the wrong call, but could have been a penalty as easily as a dropped ball.

That's why I prefer play on. There's too fine a line between a penalty and a scrum there, and it's too open to interpretation.

That is such a myth. Stuart got the Roosters to 3 consecutive grand finals. That is a massive achievement. People say he had a champion team, Gould and Murray laid the foundations etc etc. Stuart however was still able to get those sides to the big one and win one in the process. Brian Smith had great sides in the late 90's and was unable to yet people rate Smithy (I am one of those too). However Smithy overstayed and got stale as did Stuart at the Roosters and later the Sharks.

Unless we are waiting for Bellmay in 2014 I would sign Stuart to a 2 year deal and then reassess. I would also allow him to be the Origin coach so as to attract players to our club and make them want to play for him that little bit more.
