Why are we so sure it's not Wayde after a better shot at first grade and the club not standing in his way? I don't see why we'd force him out and you can't blame the guy for not wanting to be stuck behind an established hooker for the next few years. As the article mentions there are a number of clubs without established hookers in 2020. He'd have at better shot at any of the Tigers, Warriors and Bulldogs than he does here.

Not to mention, an article that puts Egan in the $500k bracket should be treated with extreme scepticism on principle.

The media figures dont add up.

$800k for DWZ?
$500K for Egan
$500k+ for Blake
$850k for Maloney
$800k for RCG

Thats a hell of a warchest if those figures were accurate. Egan is the least believable of them though. He has barely been part of our top 17 and was typically a benchie when he was.

There’s no way Egan is on 500k, who’s saying that?

DWZ I reckon is closer to 500k

the others are about right

Other then Brian Too and James Fisher Harris nearly all our players are overpaid..
Edwards,Mansour,Whare,Maloney,Cleary Tamau,Rcg,Egan,Kikau,Yeo and including everyone we let go Bryce,Moylan,Peach,Dwz,Waqa,Merrin
I remember Gus on 100% footy last year saying he wasn't a very good judge of young players on what they will be like when they get to Nrl level.I was worried then and letting go of Sivo on minimum wage confirmed it.

Its funny we thought Nathan Cleary was on overs at ~$1m a season. Which he is.

But that's so much more reasonable than what the majority of others are supposedly earning. Although the same media who report this shit didnt have him or any of our guys in the top paid players in the game.

They're not even consistent with their own claims.

My assesment is based on value and effort for money,at present only guys like Tedesco and Tamalolo are worth what they get week in week out.

To be in that million dollar bracket you need to be influencing the result of almost every game you play.

I got it with DWZ for example since people said he was being paid as a fullback, RCG was a rep prop until breaking his jaw twice. Egan doesn't make sense since he's barely started.

It would just be his manager quoting figures in the hope to drive up his next deal or the club trying to justify it. I doubt he is on that much

That is how I see it too. Him wanting out and his manager quoting stupid figures to get him a payrise

If Sharks are looking to move Prior, I'd be happy to have him at Penrith. Assuming RCG gone:

8. JFH
9. Koraisau
10. Prior
11. Kikau
12. Martin/Yeo
13. JFH

14. Kenny
15. Tamou
16. Martin/Yeo
17. Leota

No excuses for halves or backs behind that pack.

Egan probably doesn’t want to be the 3rd string hooker next year. He’d be crazy not to try and get a starting gig somewhere else.
He can take Tyrone May with him.

Prior is going as well as RCG, I’d rather went after someone more aggressive. JWH will do fine.
