There's a rumor or theory... Call it what you like, that hoppa may head to Melbourne as an exchange for Munster...it would be amazing if true but I just can't see Melbourne releasing a talent like Munster to a rival club
Seems far to good to be true

Munster is a very versatile player. Originally a hooker, played plenty of halves and could slot into fullback (his now preferred position) or centre at a pinch. I've seen a lot of Bevan French and he is not ready. I appreciate we have Gordon for 2016 but Munster would be one of our best signings in years. Very Brett Hodgson like. I just can't see the Storm releasing him unless Munster has some type of clause in his favour or we give him $500k and the Storm relent.

I have read rumours Munster isn't happy with Slater re-signing for 2 more years. It's a long time to wait.

He doesn't seem like a centre and is unlikely to get a chance in the halves / hooker, so if the Storm need a centre move then a fullback it could make some sense to do a swap.

I've heard storm don't consider him slater's replacement and see him as a centre or possibly five eighth

Five potential rookies are among the first group of players named to the NZ Kiwis train-on squad for the upcoming tour of England.

Fourteen players, whose teams have been eliminated from NRL playoff contention, include NZ Warriors Tuimoana Lolohea and Solomone Kata, Parramatta's Manu Mau, and Tim Simona and Manaia Cherrington of Wests Tigers.

None have played for the Kiwis yet.

Warriors forward Bodene Thompson has also never taken the field for the national side, although he was part of the squad that won last year's Four Nations tournament.

The wider Kiwis group consists of about 40 players and more will be named over the next month as their seasons end.

Train-on camps will begin on September 23 in Auckland and Sydney, with the 23-strong touring side to be announced soon after the NRL Premiership Grand Final on October 4.

Players in the first group are:
  • Lewis Brown (Penrith Panthers)
  • Manaia Cherrington (Wests Tgiers)
  • Kieran Foran (Manly Sea Eagles)
  • Peta Hiku (Manly Sea Eagles)
  • Solomone Kata (NZ Warriors)
  • Tuimoana Lolohea (NZ Warriors)
  • Simon Mannering (NZ Warriors)
  • Ben Matulino (NZ Warriors)
  • Manu Mau (Parramatta Eels)
  • Sam McKendry (Penrith Panthers)
  • Tim Simona (Wests Tigers)
  • Martin Taupau (Wests Tigers)
  • Bodene Thompson (NZ Warriors)
Dean Whare (Penrith Panthers)

Clicky

Although it is only the train on squad, congratulations to Manu for his selection. On the whole he had a pretty strong season (perhaps a bit quiet midway through it but very good at the start and finish) and it is a well deserved call-up.

*Edit* That Keiran Foran bloke goes ok as well...

Wonder if Benji will get selected. He's played some good footy this year.

Considering Johnston is out he would have to be a good chance.

Isn't Norman eligible for NZ? Surely he would have made the squad if he was.

Forgive my ignorance, but who is Grima and what position will be be holding at the club?
Obviously he was here previously...what did he do for us then?

In a nutshell ... He was a former junior rep player who spent a good part of a decade coaching matts and ball sides, he won a couple of gf's there he also spent a season coaching the 20's and was assistant coach to Rip Taylor in our gf win in 08 I think ... Life member.
Spent a couple of years as Stuart's assistant at the Sharks than left to be Steve prices assistant at saints before he took a head coaching role at the London Broncos but cut the stint short due to personal reasons and headed back home
