I hear on the grapevine that we signed a couple of younger players for NYC 1 of them being Marmin Baba, younger brother of Ben.

according to Doga on the forum, he's supposedly the mre talented.

The signing of Barba is true. A friend of mine who is connected with the Bulldogs coaching staff told me about on Friday.

He said that he is a very good player and has plenty of potential.

He said the dogs were disappointed he signed with Parra.

Good news Staggs.
Great to hear :)

If people say he is potentially more talented than brother Ben Barba......wow that's a great signing!

Finished school in 2008 but hails from Queensland so he should have only been 17 right?

That would make him 19 this year.

He also features in a sole youtube video, which is of terrible quality but I will link it for everyone none the less.

He also played together with Pat O'Hanlon back in Mackay, which may or may not have influenced his decision.

That's interesting about Blake Green.....

So any interesting stuff we've heard aside from the Barba signing (which is great by the way)?

Honestly, if we are signing a lot of big-name young players then I'll be happy; in reality, our team is vastly under-performing compared to what they have shown they are capable of, so I dunno how many new big-name players we need (aside from someone to help mentor Morts at halfback or a proven long-term halfback solution of course).
I still think this is a great side to have;

1. Jarryd Hayne 2. Luke Burt 3. Joel Reddy 4. Timana Tahu 5. Eric Grothe 6. Daniel Mortimer 7. Halfback/Jeff Robson 8. Tim Mannah 9. Matt Keating 10. Fui Fui Moi Moi 11. Nathan Hindmarsh 12. Ben Smith 13. Justin Horo 14. Jeff Robson/Tom Humble 15. Shane Shackleton 16. Justin Poore 17. -whoever- (Lee Te Mari perhaps?)

Then again, I'm not one that is good at criticising our own players

Two of your starting 13 don't have contracts for next year. I wouldn't be surprised if Horo ends up elsewhere.

Sorry, the luck we have had signing the younger brothers of someone elses star player hasn't necessarily paid off......

Jamie Mahon, Daniel Brown, Matt Lockyer.... off the top of my head to start with we haven't done well outside of Nathan Hindmarsh.

I heard on the 'other' site that he was actually a bloody good player......
Do you guys think he will be a fringe prop or our replacement for Cayless?
Obviously Manoukafoa is a reserve prop, and if this guy isn't up to scratch like you guys are saying then who do you think we should look at? Is there any quality replacement left, because at the moment (even though we played like sh*t on Saturday) we do have one of the best prop rotations in the competition.......

I think that he's had a heap of injuries (see Wiki; ankle, shoulders etc) and if he's playing himself fit in A grade at the moment, then there is no harm in seeing if he can make the step up to Wenty next year. Who knows he might blossom with a full off season. Like Pele and Manny, you've got to take the punt as FG props don't grow on trees*.

* well they do with the Dragons who seem to have an endless supply of quality forwards from the Illawarra.
