Murraymob is a Pie and Burbon deal actually, times have changed, things are bit more expensive these days

Yeah that burbon is a big hit to the salary cap with cost of living and alcohol tax in this country.

Mbye is a Bulldogs type signing. No room for him with us. A shit utility player. Why?

With Edwards, Cleary and Kenny locked in. Why do we need anyone else for 14 when we have these guys at the club:

Jack Cole
Blaize Talagi
Brad Schneider
Soni Luke
Trent Toelau
Luke Sommerton

Mbye might be experienced. But he is a terrible player and his experience counts for nothing when his talent is nowhere near NRL level.

Not sure the Mbye hate. Yes past his best but you dont play origin and the amount of nrl he has and be shit haha.

Hed be a great back up and is much more accomplished and skillful then schnieder. I dont ever see schnieder being anything more than an nrl back up.

Mbye has almost 200nrl games and a few origins.

He would be a very very handy bloke to fill in if needed for injuries. Hes got a lot of experience and has always been in avg teams. With the amount of yardage our team makes i think he would actually be ok.

Would he do better than say Cole or Blaize in the 14?

That should be the gauge for bringing a guy in that role in

Cole will do a better job than Mbye and he has a ceiling we are yet to see - we need to forward plan for life without Nathan because it will come at some point - Nathan has been quite injured the past 2 seasons - no romey to run the team now

do you really want to be relying on old man Mbye being a dominant half?

Telegraph has Every NRL club’s train and trial players for 2025 pre-season. It is behind a paywall. Anyone with access see if there are any names on there for us?

This is a cut and paste from the DT article:

Trent Toelau is the most recognisable name among the Panthers train-and-triallists after making 12 appearances in the NRL in 2024. He was also named in the New Zealand squad for the Pacific Championships. Prop Austin Dias also has first grade experience, having made seven appearances for the Wests Tigers in 2022. The most exciting of the group is fullback Jaxen Edgar, who was ranked in the top 10 Australian schoolboys by this masthead two years ago.

TRAIN AND TRIAL SQUAD: Trent Toelau, Billy Scott, Austin Dias, David Fale, Jaxen Edgar
