The mail is getting stronger that South Sydney's Alex Johnston could leave Redfern after this year. Johnston comes off contract and is being chased by a pack of rival clubs. A desire to play fullback - something unobtainable at Souths due to Greg Inglis - could see Johnston move from the premiers.

If playing fullback is the single largest thing driving Johnston out from Souths (and to be fair a better pay day comes with the positional change as well) we would have to be one of the prime destinations by my reckoning:

Raiders - Wighton, Rapana
Bulldogs - B.Morris, Perrett
Sharks - Gordon, Holmes, Barba
Titans - Zillman, Mead
Sea Eagles - Stewart, Gutherson*, T.Tbrojevic

Knights - Gidley, S.Mata'utia, Mamo
Cowboys - Coote, Morgan
Parra - Hopoate, Robinson
Panthers - Moylan, Watene-Zelesniak
Rabbitohs - Inglis

Nearly every other NRL club has a good/great option sorted for fullback. The Raiders and particularly the Titans are probably the other clubs that can give him that shot as is. Newcastle and North Queensland could also be in the mix depending on their roster choices for next year while the Warriors could emerge as suitors if the rumours about Tomkin's homesickness prove to be true.

Suprise Loko not sacked by Dogs or NRL. If we are paying half his contract i think we should be able to rip our part up. I reckon if the dogs where paying his contract in full they would be saying goodbye.Fact there only probably paying less than 150k means they wont!!

Mate, one "Great" signing doesn't change all the boardroom shenanigans that have been going on and still going on behind the scenes. Hardly as great a signing as many here are heralding anyway, when you consider he was looking to leave for his own personal reasons, we had the coach and player that he feels most comfortable in linking up with and lets not forget we also offered a monetary inducement that was way to hard to refuse. A monetary amount that I feel is around $400k more then what he is actually worth.

But hey, be happy I get why you are, I just have had a gutful of our useless board behaviour, infighting and all round piss weak quality.

And yes, they seem to be doing better then they have been for a while, but I still don't think they are good enough. They are yet to show anyone any real tangible evidence that they are capable of delivering all their lofty statements of the last few months. Talk is cheap.
