and round 13 is only relevant if they want to play chicken and not fill up their available cap space with replacement players.

yeah I agree .... which is why I think it is dragging out quite a bit - he wants to make a decision, stick with it, be done with it all and get on with things

but hey - a rule is a rule - and manly can still try all they want up until the end of round 13 - and foran would have every right to change his mind if he really saw fit

Understandable IF they can use the cash/salary cap room to retain Foran, plus pick up an Egley or Sezer in return. If they don't, they've basically given up on their season since Foran could be out for an extended period of time with his hammy strain.

Gee manly are sounding like a basket case, while no one likes losing star players especially halves they have developed they really need to look towards the future. Even if they lose foran they still have a pretty decent backline that would help any new half combo. They could easily pick up a combo like Maloney/seizer/hodkinson/edgely for around $1m, then get 2-3 decent forwards and they would be looking ok for next year. Seems like they are lacking some real leadership.
