Uncle Nick doesn't need paper bags since he is one of the most connected blokes in Australia.

He can get his players in on initial capital raisings for high return unlisted investment vehicles none of us has ever heard of.

The best we can do is send a player to Jim's Financial Planning in a converted fibro house on Henry St. Putting excess cash in a Vanguard Fund can't compete.

Many years ago I saw this in reality. Sell before you hold the bag.

A 10x return just a month or so after listing.

This. Fafita doesn't care about winning a premiership it's an entirely financial decision.

Ye of little faith.

The club has a hit list of who they want. Fifita bolted to the top of it.
Just because we missed out on him doesn't mean we don't have other plans. Contracted players are on the list. Off contract players are on it.
Since it was announced Fish was leaving. The club has been contacted by numerous managers offering under-contract players. Terms are always the issue.

If we get who we want we will be fine. If not, there is plan to get through next year and strike 2026.

There are many ways this can play out.

Probably can't say but who are realistic options?

Stick to what you are good at. You are good at developing players in your area, and country areas.

Fifi was always a bright lights big city player. A player we do well at recruiting.

You can try with Gussy, but I think it will be a waste of time. He is an inner city boy, who plays for inner city clubs.

Don’t disagree with any of this, the one thing giving me a Lloyd Christmas glimmer of hope is that Angus grew up around Young/Temora

With the benefit of hindsight the fact that Fifita signed with the Roosters showed we dodged a bullet.

He can’t seriously believe that the Roosters are a legitimate premiership contender in the near future. There are a long list of reasons for that. Keary is retiring and it is unclear who will play 6 next season. Sam Walker might prove to be a top half but is unproven and was playing reserve grade not long ago. It is unclear who most of their outside backs will be and Tedesco probably has one season left in him.

All of that shows that his primary motivation wasn’t to win a premiership. If that’s not his primary motivation then we dodged a bullet.

Well said! The way I see it, their best chance of a premiership is this season and that is a slim prospect at best. The are losing too many quality backs to be a threat the next few seasons. It’s not like they can simply replace Manu.
