Cole plays tough and has talent but can't stay fit. So you're probably right.

If Jett is any good I think he'll be our 6 in 3 or 4 years

Nothing against Cole, as you said, he's tough and is a good player, But Talagi just has that look and raw talent that doesnt come around very often.

Agree with Jett, i have a feeling there's a succession plan there once his time is up in NZ.

Cole stays fit. He is the 6

Talagi has shown nothing to say that he is a 6. He had nothing v the poms the other day.

Still very young but not a 6 in a top team yet

We have a million centres. He was signed to play 6
So what, who cares, and if he is a shit house defender we can't use him then, other clubs have to use players they've signed on big coin, we don't, if they are going be to our detriment for the season, they can waste away in cup then move on, Ivan's pet project needs to shape up (defensively) or he'll be off to the eels

We also signed Cole until 2027 to play 6.

No way we signed a 19 year old centre/fullback with the promise he would be 6 in a team looking to win the comp.

He would be a chance but there are guys that have been in our system longer. Especially with Nathan not being able to train fully

Still more usable than Cole who can't stay fit for a month at a time. With Nathan's issues we need a 6 who'll be there every week

I want you to read Bazals quotes on talagi
That shoulder is going to hurt a lot more watching Blaize Talagi not even use his if they pick him in any front line position.

Worst defender I have ever seen
He watches and pays out parra more than anyone, I would trust his assessment, over anyone of those pawwa fans easily

But he doesn't stay fit. He's played 10 NRL career games..

Hard to take much from the UK games, Luai really didn't offer much either... None of them did.

I'll trust our club who signed him to play 6 as thats the only position we needed to fill. I'll be f**king amazed if the club spent 500k+ on a bloke to fill in the backline here and there.

Nah, I wouldn't, not everything they do is perfect, only have to look at the May bros

Anyways have a laugh, courtesy of bazal...
Our backline all run like they have fused knees.

Except Talagi who can't catch or tackle

Talagi you absolute cat

Althougjh Carty defs shoved some merkin on the contest. Must have been vaxxed

Talagi...far out. He's Sandow level.

It begins

2 try assists, but he missed a much faster bloke that Talagi should have tackled and he's Carige worthy?

Hot take, my son.

Send Talagi into the sun

DylBro is busy having t make 100m cos the forwards won't, having to defend at 6 and centre cos Talagi won't, and having retread Asi as a halves partner.

Dudes made more run metres than any forward except RCG and more tackles than the other starting prop tonight. Merkin carries us every week.

Hook Talagi. He's embarrassing

Vossy - Plenty of enthusiasm from the Eels defenders!

*An albino runs straight through Blaize Talagi at that exact moment*

Here we go.

Kick, run at Talagi, try

Brian Kelly is almost Blaize Talagi levels of bad defence. Almost

Not sure who they plan to replace Eshay Luai.

They can pick Talagi and have a gutless black hole in the defence or they can pick Schneider and have plod as pure as Kirk Reynoldson without the beard

Yes but he has been in the system for 3 years now. As opposed to Talagi who has yet to start his 8 weeks mandated leave.

You expect a new player who has yet to even meet some of the team to be ready in 2 months?

With these ones you often pay on potential. If they believe he is the option for 2026 or 2027 then you pay it.

Doesn't mean he is the best option in 2025

And to be handed a spot that luai had to sit behind for years coz moylan and maloney were there, and romy is arguably our best 5/8th ever, nope I don't buy it

Correct. Long term he likely is the plan but he was still in England on test duty last week.

Unless he comes back early is due back next year with Edwards and co. Ivan is very conservative so won't rush him.

So if we start the year well. Those in front will stay in front until injury or the side falls out of form.

This is the formula that has worked

Why would a club going for 5 in a row waste half a million in cap space?
