Playing the dogs this week a few players I think would be worth a look with the dogs needing to move on some players. None are big money main signings but worth a look.

25yr 45 games over the past 4 years 6’3 good lateral mover decent leg speed, his game time is low tho if he gets into a good system could improve out of sight, about to come into his prime time for a front rower, would be very cheap. He is one that does the small things right, safe hands, plays the ball well, runs decent dummy lines, gets himself in position in case of an offload, gets down low in defence, gets off the ground fast, doesn’t give away those stupid penalties, very “money ball” signing
Get his fitness way up watch him improve

Has been playing very well this year and could be a faster more impact version of Tolman if the price is right. Is a different player then when he was with us.

Reminds me of Chambers type young big body fast, has an error in him & can give away a penalty, not sure he gets past the no dick head policy, but would put him in recruitment line behind a few if we can’t get the ones we want.

Averillo or Lewis
Both seem to be improving in a shit system, can kick and play footy and have that enthusiasm and passion I don’t see in Trindal. Lewis has the added benefit of back up hooker.

Are we still in the Dale Finucane Sweep Stakes? ( Or were we ever?)

Haven’t heard our Club being mentioned as one of the possible landing spots for him in recent times.

I’d be more than Happy to do a ‘Duges’ offer for Joey Manu - pay him ‘elite talent money’ (which conveniently happens to be the same as fullback money) but play him wherever we have a gap… I’d leave him in the centres personally, but give him the Turbo licence to free roam wherever he wants in attack, as long as he’s back where he needs to be in defence.
Brooks, at the right money (presumably Tigers would be tipping in plenty), behind a decent pack could be worthwhile. There’s a good player in there - he’s shown it in the past (and more often than the likes of Ash Taylor). Wouldn’t be so much of a gamble if he’s on a reasonably cheap salary.

The problem is, we don't have a good forward pack.

A major problem is the amount of minutes Tolman and Woods play, that kills us to start.
If Uele & Hunt were fit that would help big time.
Nikora is not suited to us, he needs to go with SJ.
Put Ramien in backrow he has some grunt.
2022 taking Graham dosent return without Finucane.

I do think the idea of Ramien to the back row has merit.

He has difficulty passing effectively, so if he’s not thinking about passing, he can just tuck the ball under his wing and go for it.

Fitzy is not coming for a quick fix. TPJ, Vaughan etc are short term decisions that do not benefit the club we want to build.

If we can land Finucane, Hynes and McInnes that is a A+ recruitment drive. Without Dale it is probably an A. We just signed the form f**king player in the NRL for 600k - in about two weeks with no leaks. All 3 players are no bullshit, hard working players who add to what we are building. Connor Watson another rumoured target is cheap, hard working and 100% effort. This is how you build a standard and culture at a club.

Factor in we are moving on the salary of Dugan, SJ, Townsend, Woods and Moylan (pay cut of 50% or so should he stay). We have re-signed Kennedy, Talakai, Rudolf, Tracey and Trindall. Not one player we wanted to keep has decided he has a better opportunity elsewhere.

Also going into November 1st we have Fifita (850k approx) and Graham (750k approx) enter their final 12 months. Which allows us to go out and buy big names for 2023 and try to drag them into next years salary cap room. We need more quality and leadership. Finucane really helps us if we can get it done. Then look into the market next year for a quality half to partner Nicho.

Ramien needs to move into 2nd row , hasn't got the skills for centre , always turns in and looks for contact when getting the ball , basically already playing like a 2nd rower . Really like young Billy Smith to fill a center roll at an affordable price , a player with a lot of up side .
Have we got any young gun centers coming thru ? that could be filling the other center roll , or get Joey Manu as a star signing , the guys got all the skills .

Our Ace is obvioulsy Fitz. They all know and trust him.
JWH has to move on to allow new blood to come thru. Sam walker is the future there and both he and keary are runners of the ball, first choice kickers and want the ball on big plays. Walker will be their preference.

Manu and Brown. They cannot get the money theyre worth at their current clubs.
