Allow me to jump in if I may, in a previous life time I had the pleasure and privilege of being a Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks scout from Queensland. It was much less data driven back in those days but one of the key criteria was durability - I could present the greatest player in Rugby League history, but if he was always injured they just wouldn't look at the player - Metcalfe is the perfect example - brilliant footballer, too high risk in terms of reliability.

On a sidenote, I did offer the Sharks the opportunity to sign Quade Cooper which they kindly declined.

Hhmm... yeah nah.

See winx is leading the Turnbull Stakes by 2 metres halfway down the straight and falls over.

She didn't win it.

Yeah but she was leading at the point she was still in it.

Never know will we. Metcalf couldnt do any more than lead it while he was in it.

Unlike WK. Who led but dipped in form so we know he wasnt good enough.

Couldn't give a toss who wins that thing anyway. Its rarely won by the games best player.

Dude had a helluva season. Got his team to top 2 whilst he was there.

My point being he wants a million bucks a season and no player that averages 10 games a season is worth that regardless of how good they are. Case in point Turbo. Even he averages 14 games a season over the same period.

But we pay a player a million plus a season and he fails to deliver.
Clubs want halves but we don't offer Hynes the club continues to keep him.
He will only get worse each year. A players value is determined what he does on the field, and Hynes when games count never stands up, but the club keeps him.
We don't move players on, instead other teams keep looking to improve the Donks look like to get Pezet, and we sit on our hands.
Next year is looking like another failure no improvement on 2025.

Can't wait to see how WK performs next year, whilst watching fullbacks with less experience perform better then him

It's not an even playing field.

That's why the Donks get Pezet.
Spot on.
I refuse to get annoyed about it, as it’s like talking to or punching a brick wall.
Until that changes, the game will be still be the pot of piss on the table that it has been forever.
It is what it is and they ain’t changing it any time soon.

Pezet has a had a few good games without being great.
He runs on behind munster paps and Grant.
At the broncs he is the man.
In a one city one team hotbed.

If he was shooting the lights out in reggies Bellamy wouldve given him more game time, so he obviously wasnt.

Yeah but...

That's our fault.
Whoever has the chequebook jumped before they were pushed and stitched NH long term on ridiculous money.

On the field he is probably a 600K player.
Off the field he brought in some corporate dollar and fan coin so there's that.

I was perusing the Sharks shop the other day and there's a Nicho T shirt which is the only item which has every size available, so maybe they dont sell as many of those any more.

Absolutely..:. remember the last rising star halfback the Storm let go, who also joined the Donkeys…. Brodie Croft… Supposedly Cooper Cronk mkII….
Went to the Donkeys and was pretty ineffective.
Now plays at Leeds (where I see him every week). The way I’d describe him…. ‘Meh’… he’s alright, has some decent games, has more where he doesn’t really do anything wrong, but also doesn’t stand out, and then has the odd shocker.
There’s every chance Pezet could be Croft mkII…
