Ofcourse letting him go by itself would be terrible. But what if it happened because we had DCE's signature? IMO that would be a net improvement to the team.

Shift Sutton out of the halves so he doesnt "f**k it all up", Cherry and Reynolds in the 7 and 6.

In that hypothetical situation letting go of Luke would be acceptable.

DCE could be asking for a release from next years deal, so he can re-sign with Manly (maybe a 5 year deal, starting from next year), with more money for next year (reported he will only get 120k next year)... but where there is smoke there is fire. He seems happy at Manly after watching him on NRL on Fox, but he would be silly not to take the best offer out there.
