What happened the last time the Broncos looked like signing a rep star from another team...we decided we wanted him and we got him.

If Cherry doesn't resign with you guys and decides to leave, he'll be forming a dynamic halves duo with Adam Reynolds.

I thought Sutton was priority signing last year. Already replacing him after 1 game?

Not replacing him. He'd still have a role, just not in the halves.

Lol. No. IF we were to sign him he'd be no more than a depth player on minimum wage in case we get raped by injury yet again.

I like the look of Reynolds but would think it would be a bit of a blow to his confidence if Souths went and signed another half now. Carr looks good too, any chance he will get a run this year?

Carr I think was signed so Reynolds had the pressure of competition to keep him improving and in the event of injury to him or Sutton. It's good to have talented depth, we've been missing that in the past.

As for Reynolds' confidence, DCE doesn't have to be a replacement. Sutton isn't a natural in the halves, shift him to the back row, put one of Reynolds/Cherry in the 7 and on one side of the attack, the other in the 6 and on the other side. Similar to what Foran and DCE do now.

You know you seem to claim the sea eagles are screwed cap wise ect, tell us why the dogs aren,t? This should be good considering dogs have pretty much bought a team, which anyone with half a brain knows costs more under the dap than a developed side like manly has compared to the dogs. If mqnly are screwed the dogs are so far over they should be wooden spooners for the next 10 years they'd lose that many points.

Um, pretty simple really we had a few stars we produced on the rise, ben barba is re-signed to a long deal while he is still cementing his star status so he wouldn't command 400k or so yet. and when he will he is still contracted for years.

kasiano, taupau, finucane, jackson etc all coming through and in process of extending.

barba, morris, ennis, graham, tolman, pritchard, eastwood all safetly tucked away.

with 12 off contract this year, along with the cap rise and the fact we are under the cap (before you argue we released millington after the roster was organised for 2012) also only signed gavet, graham and mcdougal when we lost idris, ryan, roberts along with a bunch of second tier players like armit, hodgson, warburton, tia kifili, paea, morrin etc which is why it was well known we are under the cap.

we also have halatau, stagg, goodwin, turner, wright, keating, mcdougal, lett etc off contract.

further more we don't have a squad with about 10 internationals. half of them on peanuts. with half the clubs prepared to pay alot more.

thanks for asking.

lol, Cherry won't go to souffs, if he leaves it will be to the Broncos

Like des wouldn't go to the dogs? like des re-signed with the dogs? like tony williams doesn't have a clause? like foran is contracted to 2014 and not got a clause?

you have no f**king idea.

if you say this it means more then likely he will end up at souths.

Yep. Bennett wants him but others at the club are not so sure. Might come down to how much Bennett wants him and also what D Buderus does on the field and what he decides to do next year.
I know what they can do next year....watch Cameron King running around for Dragons or Cutters. His contract doesn't end until end of 2013. So unless Dragons release him, he wont be playing for Knights next year.

Isn't there a rule that you can't talk to a player within 2 years of their contract expiring? Wouldn't that mean they can only begin negotiations next year?

I think Wayne is overdoing it with the amount of players he's signing up, especially since the knights have a good junior base.

It is currently under 2 years when his contract expires, not sure if there is a rule regarding when you can sign a player.

I was reading the paper the other day saying most of the ex dragon players at the Knights asked if they could go to Newcastle with Bennet.

Most of them were only at the Dragons originally because Bennett brought them to the club. The only ones excluded from that situation are McKinnon (Hunter junior) and Scott

A coach like Bennet will unfortunately have a lot of players wanting to play under him.

Half the blame has to go to the players, I don't think Bennet is poaching Dragon players for the sake of it.

Albert Kelly > Souths

Could be good for them if he reaches his potential. A genuine 6 unlike Sutton but jeez theyd have a small halves pairing.

Will be interested to see how he goes, how is his kicking game? Would be good to have a five-eight to allow Sutton to move into the second row where he should be. Move Burgess up front where he is best too.

Not too worried about the size of our halves, Reynolds has great defence.

Anyway, no harm taking him on and giving him an apprenticeship through the Bears see if he pushes for a FG spot
