What makes Loko a better centre than back rower?

His lateral defence is not quick enough to defend in the centre position, he can't set up his winger, can't score tries and lacks speed.

What he is good at is taking hit ups and popping the odd offload! Good attributes for an edge forward.

Agreed.

Keating infront of Reni and Terepo??????
Yeah, it's a tricky one... I usually consider the first 18 as part of the first choice squad, with 17 to be selected on a week by week basis. I reckon coaches value Keating's defence, and at lock it gets him out of dummy half. Terepo will be there increasingly during this year and 2014, and it just takes one back row injury (or suspension for Hock ;-)) and Terepo.

As for Reni... yeah, not top 25 in 2014 for mine.

Like him or not, Keating is our top tackler so far in 2013.

Haven't seen a team list around here for a while! This is how I think things are looking for 2014 so far:

1.Hayne
2.Morgan
3.Loko
4.Hopoate
5.Sio
6.Norman
7.Sandow
8.Mannah
9.
10.Moi Moi
11.Maitua
12.Tanginoa
13.Mossop

14.Pritchard
15.Lussick
16.Terepo
17.

Obviously we need to recruit a few more players, but I think we got the core of a decent team!

Any thoughts?

I agree with Loko-I think he is too slow at centre and im yet to see him bust the line -Morgan looks more dangerous in a one on one.Ive seen loko a few times one on one and thought he will go straight past but has been stopped.
Thou he has come back from two knee reco's and only played 8 games since so i guess should give him the whole year before we can realy judge.

So realy you have 4 backrowers. Your 11,12,13 and a benchy.

11Penetrator/line break (loko)
12Half way in between - Tanginoa
13Defensive unit - Mossop

15- Line breaker -ball skills.

I think MK could be valuable if we get our forwards right and if Kaysa adds spark off the bench,This would let us carry our 15 as a attacking forward and Mk can be used as a defensive forward if need be.
Otherwise id prefer to have our 15 as a defensive forward.

I would be looking at something like.

1. Hayne
2. Blair
3. Loko
4. Hopoate
5. Toutai
6. Norman
7. Sandow
8. Mannah
9. ?
10. Lussick
11. Tanginoa
12. Hock
13. Terepo

14. Pritchard
15. Moimoi
16. Mossop
17. Allgood

18. Maitua

I don't know where the young players like pauli, Paulo etc fit. I would like loko in the backrow but I would i would rather Terepo in the team than Sio, as I believe he offers more. If we sign a decent winger than so be it move loko.

WTF? They are set up thusly:

Left
Right
Middle
Bench (either impact, utility or some deadshit to only be used in case of injury)

Last season Pou created a stir with his middle half. This new penetrator position is going to be a sensation

If you've got a better name for a guy who links the left and right halfbacks I'd love to hear it.

'Ball-playing lock' doesn't cover it either, because that describes Trent Merkin perfectly, and he certainly doesn't link his halves.
