That was never going to happen. The Roosters did not want him to stay, they just played it to force another club to pay full freight. Pearce would have been told he was going to play back up hooker for like 10-15 minutes a week. Cronk and Keary were the preferred halves combo. If Pearce did this for the next 2 years, his bargaining position for his next contract would have been significantly impacted.

The outcome that has happened was exactly what the club hoped for. There was never any real intention to have him sitting on the bench for $800K a year.
This is exactly right.
LOL at Kent on Fox trying to say that he should have stayed at the Roosters and they wanted him to play 6.

Can't see that one happening any time soon. Napa is under contract until the end of 2019 and the Roosters don't have anyone poised to take over as a replacement to play front row if they let him walk. I think the fan starting this rumour on the site you read it on might be just wishful thinking somehow.
Maybe Roosters have something up heir sleeve? Not too sure but we will have to wait and see how it pans out

Why is that? I would have thought the atmosphere there would have been pretty good with the back office changes and the way they played this season.
The atmosphere at Parra is fine. Edwards doesn't want out because he hates the joint as that other poster claims.

The word is Edwards 2 little kids live on the GC and he wants to be close to them. Can't blame him really. That's if this is actually going to happen.

But really, doesn’t want to play 5/8 to Cronk but happy to play 5/8 to DCE.

If he does sign for Manly which is not a certainty, it sounds like there’s a bit of f**k you to the Roosters if that’s the case

It's a stone cold certainty. Looking forward to a few of their fans who have spent years bagging him out to start talking him up like he is the second coming of Bob Fulton.

Nope. He's a tool off the field and cracks under pressure on. But it's these rough diamonds that Manly is so good at polishing up.

How exactly does it work that Green "had an offer from the Warriors" seemingly since time immemorial when clubs are prohibited from doing exactly that?

Manly and the Warriors had an agreement that if Manly were to land a suitable replacement they would release Green. Permission was granted on all sides at some point.

So what you're saying is that Pearce is going to walk up to Barrett and say "give me a polish"?

Pearce could have stayed at Easts and became a better player beside Cronk.
On the other side of the coin Cooper could find out what it's like to play in less than optimal conditions that he's not used to.
