Not my rankings - it's a list of random starting 5/8's at other clubs, and quite a reasonable question to ask you how you derive the fantasy that Gamble is anything other than a back-up 5/8 in any competitive team in the competition. ....and you cannot answer .

I'd say a 20 yr old Blaize Telagi with plenty of skill and tomorrows will be the 5/8 for Panthers next season.
An error prone winger who can’t tackle would be playing NSW Cup behind Gamble if Penrith chose that particular option. You’re really bad at this.

I don't understand why people think Gamble is cup standard. He has a lot in his locker. He is terrible in clutch situations but that's what Ponga and perhaps our star half signing is for. Gamble can definitely play as the less dominant half in a Premiership winning side.

There goes Leo.

Rorters will without doubt throw their Sombrero into the cock ring.

He would fit their recruitment strategy of the past, young with plenty of tomorrows and as close to a sure bet to develop nicely as you could hope.

In the same mold as Tedesco, JWH, Keary, Crichton, Young etc etc
There is absolutely no evidence to back that up. They are about to pay a ransom to keep Sam Walker away from Brisbane. They have not exactly been able to land players with the certainty of past years. Leo may be on their radar but I would be surprised myself. May is a more impactful player IMO. He is big body to be letting leave. Losing JWH is about as big a loss as you could have. It is a big call by the Roosters. Something has happened which they do not like. Cos he played well in 2024.

Seriously though, there’s a really bad smell around those May brothers. Two of them already probably won’t ever play in the NRL again and they just seem like they think they’re above everyone else. Not sure if we want to sign a bloke like that…

No evidence, but they're certainly now in the market looking for a front rower, and he certainly fits their usual recruitment criterion, young, looks to have a bright and long career ahead of him.

To let May go immediately, he's done something unforgivably bad or they're pretty confident of landing another recruit

A lot of the reasons for May’s exit are simply put down to mutual agreement in media today. It is a natural reaction to assume it was an incident which led to this happening. It is not like these May lads do not have form here. Talented lads but seem like they have not been told NO many times in their lives.

A bloke who is playing beyond his contract value, for a glamour club... and was enthusiastically re-signed mere months ago. We're supposed to just swallow that both parties woke up one day and felt "you know what, this isn't working for us"? And both parties saw it the same way and felt yeah, let's just split up. Happy days.

Strange if true. He's either been asked to move aside by Uncle Nick (and well taken care of for his troubles no doubt) to accommodate other signings, or there is a stinky nappy hidden somewhere waiting to be found for mine. Either way, it's the Roosters so no-one will ask too many questions and we'll move right along I'm sure.

100% The Rorters are either admitting they don't know what they're doing with retention and cap management or May has done something pretty bad. I think the latter is the best bet.

No. I actually find the hype around him bizarre. He's good, not elite.
I read here a lot and you often say things that hadn’t occurred to me and it ends up changing my mind. Not saying that to piss in your pocket but I had to respond to this particular comment.
He’s a bit like a poor man’s Richie Fa’aso - relies mostly on his athleticism. The only problem is it seems he looks explosive (his physique and his acceleration), yet he doesn’t often bend the line, much less make clean breaks. When Richie did manage to actually hold on to the ball and play disciplined footy, he’d offer a lot more than I’ve ever seen from Leo.
Maybe at another club he’d end up being great, but D Saf predicted confidently that he’d be the best prop in the game. He’s got a lot do before I’d even consider that being a possibility ever.

You nailed it. Physically speaking he's all bark, no bite. He does good work off the ball and his defence is sound in the middle, and there's value in that, but yeah I won't be running around calling him an enforcer or anything until he actually enforces something. He looks and acts like Tarzan but the effect is often more Jane-like. His workrate isn't high either, so yeah the appeal is limited to some good traits, but still a lot of untapped potential.

I don't want to sound like I don't rate the bloke or that he can't continue to improve, but I just think there's a bit more hype than is earned at moment. If it translates into a bidding war it might be one to pass on. I'd like to keep him, at a reasonable price.

I think besides appearances, the hype is because we're desperate as fans to have produced a good player. The production line of untalented, small plodders gets interrupted by someone who might actually be good and it's hard not to get your hopes up.
