Payne Haas on his $1.2 million could not be replaced by any two $600K props, or a $7-800K one and a $4-500K one,
Agreed, however in terms of influencing the game, a 7-800K prop and an additional 4-500K spent to upgrade with elite spine player is another story.

I'd never pay that kind of money for a prop. Those contracts are crazy IMO, minutes played per $ earned are the highest paid players in the game, and I'm not convinced a prop can consistently influence the game as much as an elite half with a good boot.

I'll take a 7 -800K grunt with mongrel and an elite spine any day.

Literally only Payne is worth that much on his own. Cheat code. Otherwise yeah you need to be careful. Carrigan and Barnett are both, for my money, better players than Tino. Getting the “workhorse” tag as Carrigan has seems to have hurt his value, even though for my money he’s still quite impactful when doing that work.

Tino has what is actually the worst contract in the NRL and I’ve found it ridiculous the reaction for $12 million over ten years for a prop/lock was far more favourable than the Brown one. The Tino one is a “no brainer” I’ve heard. I agree if you mean that only someone with no brain would agree to it.

Yeh Tino is hands down one of the worst contracts in the NRL, and David Fifita - that is an absolute howler and possibly even worse.
