I think Sullivan is doing a decent job so far. I get the issue about replacements, and it sucks to lose Leo when we're already depleted in the forward stocks, but I'm glad we seem more willing to play some hardball and not simply roll-over and desperately overpay players.

The Brown signing is what he will be judged on. It's a make or break moment for both him and the club. He's on record saying he's long had an interest in signing Brown at various clubs he's worked for. He's putting a lot of eggs in this basket. I personally don't think it's going to work out how we'd like it to, but I'll reserve judgment on Sullivan himself for a few years to see what we look like as a team. It's not remotely 'his' team right now.

1. Can't believe people want to let Ponga go. We are gonna let him go, pay 30% of his salary, get in Forgethy or someone similar for 900k and Ponga is gonna tear it up elsewhere. I can't bear to watch that. Rather he rots to hell with us.

2. Gags still has plenty to offer in my opinion. He was never a good defensive centre anyway. When we start getting better in attack I reckon he will improve out of sight. Also we need more leaders in the team. Dom or Schiller can fight it out for the wing spot.

I don't know anymore. Sux being a Knights fan. It's only April as well. Hopefully we see some big changes in the near future.

Gagai has 2026 to go so he is with us, Schiller needs to play centre so it’s Cup especially if we get Dom back
i’m leaning towards loosing Ponga, moving Sharpe to F/B and using spare money due to Ponga leaving to getting a quality 7, not super top range, to allow Brown to play 6.
Don’t see Ponga playing 7, if all else fails then Gamble 7, Brown 6, Sharpe 1 or wing
Option in his favour, right?

It’s time that management sit down with both Gags and Friz and discuss whether they really want - or are still capable - of playing on next year.

Gags was terrible last night. Not competing for that bomb was disgraceful. Not good enough. He just couldn’t get Schiller the ball at the right time to score - opportunities were there, but were blown time and time again.

Honestly I thought Schiller had a shocker and was more at fault than Gags for most of those situations.

Gags is well known as a centre who wants to get the ball to his winger, but Schiller was almost in front of him on one occasion when Gags threw a flick pass and Schiller dropped it. Then Gags gave him a clean pass with an easy run to the line in front of him and Schiller dropped it cold.

In relation to the bomb that the Warriors scored off, that was Schiller’s to catch every day of the week. That’s why he was back there in the first place, to field a kick. Gags might have been in the vicinity but he probably thought Schiller has it covered.

Not saying Gags has been at his best so far this season but jeez he’s barely being given any quality ball and he probably feels like he has to create something or come up with a miracle play every time because there’s basically no-one else in the team doing anything.

On topic, makes me so f-king sad seeing our former juniors THAT WE JUST LET LEAVE FOR NOTHING running around that if we had kept them, we would be a far better and more balanced squad.

Fermor on 400k instead of KPP on 750k, and Pezet instead of Cogger... those two moves alone hugely change the balance of our squad. DSaf would still be here for one.
Fermor is not a Knights junior. Played for Toowoomba then the Storm u20s before coming to us

This sort of thinking is pointless anyway. Every club let's players go in favour of others and it doesn't always work out. Who's to say either of them would have kicked on at Newcastle? Just as likely they are career reggies here

I'd take Dom back, even with the question marks on who can babysit him in defence. With our lack of go-forward, we're in no position to deny Dom a return to Newcastle (for a reasonable price). His yardage game is elite even with the problems he has. Either gets big metres or a penalty almost every carry.
Have you watched him this year?

He's been getting monstered on kick returns and is averaging only a tick over 100m a game. That part of his skillset has taken a massive nosedive

Yeah, I’d happily take Dom back if the Roosters were footing a big amount of the contract. People seem to be thinking he’s going to come back in and do what he was doing for us in 2023 though. The guy has regressed terribly and now our side is out of form. It wouldn’t be the same at all. I’d definitely take him back if not too expensive, but it would be more as a project to try and get him back to where he was, not expecting any type of immediate success.
