Would you prefer losing Norman and Hayne returning?

If Norman is going to cost us 800k plus. I reckon we would get Hayne for 1 mill plus all the TPA's he would pull. Would not need to do anything illegal.
f**k, don't start the Hayne talk... that's the last thing we - or he - need the media to jump onto next!

He's gone. Doesn't want to come back. And payments we'd made to him are likely part of this TPA/cap mess anyway.

Very true mate but I guess you also saw this which backs up what I was saying

Its just very hard to know what to believe even though its part of an official media release. The more I hear about what has gone on over the last few years the more I think the NRL have no idea what they are doing. Doesn't really matter who is in charge.

All the cap breaches are a result of whistle blowers and in the warriors case it was self whistle blowing.

Without whistle blowers they cannot administer the cap, that bit is obvious to me. Dunno what the answer is but the current set up is a mess.

Personally I dont believe anyone is salary cap compliant but they dont have factions or whistle blowers to the extent we do. That's just my personal opinion.
Agree 100% with this assessment.
The only way the NRL could possibly control ALL monetary functions is for it to itself administer the deals and payments through a clearing house.
And we know how well clubs will accept such a draconian measure.
It would be Super League all over again.

Foran of interest

No one from the Roosters will admit to it but they had more than a passing interest in a potential Eels fire sale – with Kieran Foran the main target. The Roosters have $600,000 sitting in their cap after losing some of their biggest stars in the off-season. That is seen by many as "Hayne money", but if things got bad for the Eels Foran could become a person of interest. You'll remember Foran and Mitchell Pearce went to school together and have long talked about playing in the NRL together.

Uneasy Eels

The paranoia is real about Corey Norman leaving the Eels – so much so that there were phone calls from Eels figures to Panthers officials claiming that an agent from SFX, the company representing Norman was seen at Panthers this week. We are told the under pressure Eels are jumping at shadows when it comes to Penrith – and the Roosters. We are consistently told that coach Trent Robinson can't see Norman adding to the way his team operates.

To be perfectly fair, Norman has shown exactly zero inclination towards rooting dogs so in that sense Robinson would be completely correct.

He's also made several tackles this season, which would render him further unsuitable to the roosters culture.

There’s a whisper Parramatta hooker Nathan Peats is the player under most scrutiny as the Eels look to get back under the salary cap. Peats is on big money, more than $500,000 a season. Isaac De Gois is a much cheaper option at $150,000 a year and plays equally as well.
has he SEEN an eels game? de gois goes alright but he is not in the same league as peats who i think is in the top 5 hookers in the comp

On the injury report lists Hoppa is listed in it as religous reasons.
I would think some religions would take offense that there followers are labelled injured for believing

Ryan Matterson 7 What a prospect this young bloke is. Will play plenty more rep games.

Little doubting his talent but I think it is fair to say that he may have benefitted from the kick up the backside that was getting cut from Parra.

Yes it's beginning to look like we got this one terribly wrong.

He was terrible for us in NSW cup an at one stage was dropped down to RMC. He wouldn't have made our first grade team when at our best, he wouldn't have even made the roosters team unless it were for injury and suspension.
