I know!!! ... it never f**king ends

I reckon losing Cronk will be the beginning of the end. They will never have the quality of him and Cam Smiff again.

Doesn't mean they'll automatically slide down the ladder, it's still very hard to beat them at home so they have that going for them but they'll definitely come back to the pack.

Next year has to be the year where we finally get the players we NEED (not want) to challenge for the top echelon. .

So we're basing our strategy on a Rolling Stones song. Makes as much sense as anything we've tried in the past. At least we've picked a sensible Stones song......though maybe our former preference for players from the Polynesian backgrounds was coz we picked the wrong Stones song. Hmmmmm

Guys there's something on the box about Moses asking the Tigers for a release.

Anyone see this or heard about it???

Outbidding $1,600,000 (and perhaps a second year on contract) if Matthew Johns is to be believed? Cronk is an incredible player and I would happily throw a solid million and change at him for a one year win-it-all bid but we are in an incredibly unique position with ~$3,000,000 at our disposal to add impacftul long-term pieces to an already strong core playing group.

I would be thinking long and hard before coming close to that supposed offer from the Dogs.
Cronk is the best short term option, Moses might be the best long term. Which are we looking at? There's definitely a time and place to prioritise short term goals over long term, especially if you're a coach and your job is on the line.

We've been after players with wealth and taste?

I'm still not sold on Moses....but there's no denying his potential and our need for a decent half and a first string goalkicker. If, as rumoured, we've got him for less than what the Tigers offered he could be an outstanding signing IF he lives up to his potential. And works on his defence

At the very least it shows BA is serious about building this side.
My only concern was his defence. I've already said he is potentially the next Thurston. He was brilliant last year. Anyway if Arthur's is happy signing him then I've got no problem with his defence.
