I think Katauga is probably one of the best attacking backrowers in the game but needs to get to NRL level defence, Williams is handy but definitely not a long term solution.
should be an area that we need to look at with recruitment moving forward.
Kautoga showed the opposite last year. He had to learn how to play what the team needs from him in attack, not what he wanted to do. It meant he had to put the offload away and focus on getting on the outside shoulder and a quick play the ball. He had to learn how to attack as an NRL player, not as a NSW cup player.
Defensively he tackled at 92% efficiency. Liam Martin defended at 89% efficiency whilst Angus Crichton defended at 91.6 efficiency. If he can continue his development as an attacker whilst keeping that defensive resolve he'll be a very good second rower.
Second rower is not a position I think we need to invest in externally. Between Kautoga, Williams, Tuilagi, Guymer, Doorey and Samrani we have adequate coverage and if they get too expensive then we have Latu, Funa-Iuta, Lokeni, and Petrus
