Nov 1 has been pretty uneventful so far

I just had look at main forum Confirmed Signings thread. The only real player movement post Nov 1 last year in first 3 weeks were Gutho & Terrell May being released and immediately signed by their current clubs.
JAC was next signing as “free agent” with us and Hunt going to Boncos.
Other then resignings, the first real, year in advance player movement was Robson to Rorters announced first week of Dec, then Atkinson to Drags.
Thompson to Dogs wasn’t until January this year.
Some pommy bloke to Dolphins in Feb.
Then of course Brown to Knights after last season had already started.

The timing is part of the luck. Brisbane had no control over how strong their opponents would be on the day, or whether they would win three close games in a row. A few different bounces and they could have lost any of those games.

Maybe, but 50/50 still requires luck.

Whilst I agree id say timing may also be part of the planning when putting together a squad.
Ideally you want the bulk of your players to be coming into peak which is timing and 3 or 4 rookies or journeymen that provide surprising value. Which is mostly luck.
