Spare the sob story PVL there not victims.

You warned them repeatedly for the past 3 months to have a real deep think about not leaving for a cornflakes competition.

And tbh the NRL journos have been talking and hyping up about this R360 comp more then rugby ones which has been a bit sickening tbh.

Planting stories every day about this nonsense.

On Lomax its clear both parties were happy to divorce each other.

So anyone expecting a U-Turn its not going to happen.

Lomax reputation around the game anyway has dropped you have red flags as a fan when a bloke walks out on 2 contracts in the space of 2 years.

Its clear Zac might be as much of a problem as the clubs/coaches involved.

The most interesting part for me is the release terms with the club and how much it stands up in court if Lomax wants to play for another NRL team before 2029.

Will we hold our ground as a club if Lomax and his management approches us to get that removed do we tell him no get stuffed basically.

In most circumstances I would laugh in Lomax’s face and tell him he’s made his bed he can lie in it.

However our outside backs stocks are f**king DIRE and he would easily be the best option available. If he came back grovelling and 100% committed to seeing out his contract I’d chat to him.

If we don’t sign someone of rep quality we aren’t making the 8 next year, it’s as simple as that.

All in all though I don’t see it happening, Lomax will probably have too much pride to go back on his word. He will go play Rugby in Europe or Japan for a year and have a fight or two on the side. By the time he thinks he may want to return to League, R360 will likely be ready to launch.

I reckon we tell him if you want to come back you have to take even less money or go enjoy japanese rugby.

I dont get where this talk of lomax being the slowest winger comes from... hes not actually that slow. No JAC but not bottom tier speed either. Hes also great in the air and created lots of awesome plays for us. We defs overused that play so made it look worse that it seemed. Lomax is a really good player especially at the 650k mark and unlikely we replace his talent for similar money (unless we get the cows winger?). He does however try to be the hero too often and makes some real dumb fkn plays but thats just what u get from him.

The slowest winger in the comp is To'o, everyone here would sign him in a heartbeat

People bring up these options but it isn't feasible. European comps are already halfway through their seasons and Japan is just about to start.
Also if he goes and plays rugby in Europe for 2 years it is highly likely his value to R360 is less than it is now because he will just be average and so would only demand average rugby player money rather than "strange" money.

I agree with this. There is a good chance he will want to come back. We should try to get him back for 1 season.
Just make him do a few humiliation laps at training.

he was employed as HEAD coach at the Tigers and he was crap. So crap he is one of only two coaches sacked at the worst team in the last 11 years.

he has never been re-employed as head coach anywhere else.

Cool story doesn't for a matter mean he wasn't valued at the Roosters and Dogs.

I'd take Lomax back on a short term deal in a second. We are desperate for an outside back as he has left a huge hole, not to mention Dylbro as also left.

Are our juniors good enough ? f**k no, not yet anyway. Who else is gonna make 150 to 200 metres per game.

I get the emotion as to why some people don't like him, but I care more about the Eles than how I feel about the man himself.

Unless we have some one else in mind, he'd be more than useful for 12 months while we either develop our juniors or recruit a replacement.

I'm good with what ever Ryles decides.

Anyone going to that open training session?
I hope it is just an exhibition of the sick RL skills rather than wrestling drills.
I'd have:
1. 20 minutes of slick red zone backline moves (from scrums or other)
2. 20 minutes of heads-up football skills (I don't know what this would be).
3. 20 minutes of 40-20 practice.
4. 40 minutes of towel whipping Ryan Matterson.
5. Other - maybe conversation practice.
6. 10 minutes of Moses yelling at Da Silva.
7. BBQ with 10 minutes of fans towel whipping Matterson.
