Yeh. We lost Paulo, and have replaced him with depth players (or smaller middle forwards). Vaughan was the obvious play once he became available, but doesn't seem that we were too interested.

We were but the club wasn't willing to pay what he wanted. Hasn't seemed to hurt St George his big salary.

I guess you'd have to see what sort of team the Dragons put on the field next year to see whether Vaughan and Hunt's contracts will hurt them.

Were we? I didn't hear a murmur about it. And his transfer seemed to barely get a mention in the media. I assumed it was because he'd been demoted to reggies for a while. Maybe I just missed it. But I was surprised when people were saying here that he was asking for too much.

Most clubs enquired about his services for this season, but we weren't keen when he was asking around 450k. He has transformed that pack around thats for sure.

Yep, last year he wasn't getting much of a run. This season he has gone to another level but too be far he was a country rep as far back as 3 years ago.

At the time i agreed with not paying him 450k, but Vaughan has never been a reserve grader. He's played rep footy the last 3 years.

It also not our job to evaluate the ability of potential recruits. We have a coaching staff worth hundreds of thousands of dollars who are meant to be doing that.

Milford and Pearce might be better players than Hunt, but they won't be earning as much as Hunt in 2018.

I don't think he'd have patched up our weaknesses either. He's a good player, who can play about 12 positions, but he's not a dominant front rower.
