Context dude... he isn't a permanent employee of Souths, he is a contractor whose contract expires on 31/10/2026.

He has a chance to renew/extend at the same rate, or take a new contract elsewhere, for let's say 10% more.

In the real world hundreds of contractors move every month at the end of their contracts for a lot less than 10% more.

The difference between making $1500 and $2500 is substantial. Bug changes in the type of life you can live,
But between say $11,000 and $12,000 it really isn’t going to change your lifestyle to much.

They’re not marketing the place, they’re marketing the club. It’s why the Redcliffe club is just called the Dolphins. The only benefit of geography is the commute to the club’s training ground.

That is a limited and short sighted view. A coach who is a strong mentor and gives good advice will change someone's way of thinking. Good ethics and developing a strong moral compass could open his mind to future possibilities. He will have 30yrs of work ahead of him. Life doesn't end after age 33. Does he want to end up like Trent Merrin or start a new successful chapter in his life?

Dragons never use "St George" suburb to sell the club, who wants to live there..., .....they use the Illawarra (which is where their COE is being built too).....it's why they flew KK by helicopter......

Most of their recruits move there too .....
