Rumours and Stuff

That's my assessment. No way Cowboys let Tualagi go early (I mean he is a former Kangaroo and Maroon) and Maguire is savvy enough to keep Arthurs one more year as a valuable back up. The only reason either team would let those players go is if they were making a play for another play. Payton is under the pump to perform and Maguire will be gunning for another premiership - they won't countenance weakening their squads.

Titans on the other hand are clearly experiencing what we went through 12 months ago - Hannay is not afraid to nuke the roster and recalibrate its overall balance. I think Kelly is a handy pick up - 190 games, 66 tries and only turns 30 next May. For mine he has more x-factor than Sami and represents an affordable way to add another veteran to our young squad.
Tits need cap room and likely would be glad to let Kelly go. Hence why they let Fifita go but still paying half his salary.

We cant save it but then are we just signing brian to a single year deal or multiple? Hes technically also under contract 26 so maybe an early release? If we sign him for a miltiyear deal to convince him to leave early arent we blocking ourselves from the good 2027 players like you mentioned and also pathways? So were signing a player that dpesnt make us better unless an injury happens and potentially prevents us from signing a murray taulagi or other higher quality players and maybe blocks our pathways?? Sounds like a mid idea to me.
No as plenty leave at end of each year to free up cap space.

Sides can be competitive with limited roster high end talent, but generally don’t win anything without a few elite players. Our cap management and roster building is behind the so called better clubs when signing elite players matter.
Build a good spine and you improve your chances. Currently our spine is one of the better ones. Add a couple of aggressive middles and a few other decent players and a premiership is within reach. Add KK from Souths into the mix and I suggest we'll be very competitive.

They’ve been available periodically and we don’t seem to have the appetite to chase them hard. We obtained RCG, Matterson even JAC as distressed assets. We didn’t pursue Farnsworth as the front office thought he was too expensive. Certainly there’s snot much on the open market currently and understandabaly we aren’t active

It’s just not a market where we seem to shop, Roosters, Souffs , Bulldogs and others have the ability to shop at Gucci, we are more Big W .
Shibasaki was bargain bin at Big W. Sometimes they work out! Doubt if he is on more than $200k atm.

f**k no. 10% is absolutely nothing when you know your current environment. I’m not a big risk taker though.

Why does that seem hard to understand?
10% on a $1m salary is a lot, on $100k not much. You're obviously earning $100k with your comment above.

We've been blessed with great left wingers for the past 10-12 years

Radradra into Sivo into JAC

Semi will always be the best of the modern era his ability to blend in the speed & acceleration that JAC brings and brute force that Sivo also had its why he will always be number 1.

If JAC has 2-3 more great years at Parra i suspect he will go past Sivo in terms of where we rank all-time great Parra Wingers.
Semi was one of our best and probably the best in the modern era. Was never run down and I do remember him running down Kelly, playing for Moanly, with a big head start. Unfortunately his (Semi) D seemed to deteriorate with time, but maybe it was just poor team D.

Semi was a generational Talent

You could even hear Sterlo get excited & cheered in the commentary box whenever Semi got in space.

And we know Sterlo was very partial & professional during Parra games to not come across as being biased.

It was very rare to see him slip up but Semi even got him off his chair.

Not many other Parra players have done that in Sterlo's career at channel 9.

Former Test star Ben Elias emerges as frontrunner in Wests Tigers chairman search

In what shapes as the most important decision in the Wests Tigers’ tumultuous history, the club have launched their search for a new chairman, with a former legend among the leading candidates.

In arguably the most important decision in the club’s tumultuous 25-year history, the haemorrhaging Wests Tigers have launched their search for a new chairman with a former Test star the leading contender to claim the position.
This masthead had been told three candidates for the club’s top job are Ben Elias, Leo Epifania and Dennis Burgess.
Burgess, who may struggle to claim the chairmanship after revelations emerged last weekend that his Instagram account follows hundreds of sexually explicit pages, is chairman of Wests Magpies and Holman Barnes Group, while Epifania is on the Wests Tigers board and Elias is a Tigers legend with a powerful business CV.

When contacted about the possibility of becoming Wests Tigers chairman, Elias would only say: “It would be an honour and privilege to be chair of such a great club. We need to make some strong decisions and we need to do it soon because the NRL kicks off in less than three months’ time.
“I am totally supportive of Benji Marshall and the priority for the club is to put out these fires and move forward in a positive manner.”

Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall is known to be fed-up trying to protect his players from the boardroom drama.
A rally to protest how the club is being run will be held at 10.30am this Saturday where fans will march 1km from Pratten Park to Wests Leagues, Ashfield to demand that Holman Barnes Group directors resign.
“At this rally, fans and members will call on Peter V’landys and the NRL, as well as Liquor and Gaming NSW, to intervene and fix the shambolic governance of Wests Tigers once and for all,” said Inner West Mayor, Darcy Byrne.
Would they put Elias in? Him being a Tigers player. Wouldn't HBG prefer a Wests player?

.

Heard some good reports of this Shaun Mielekamp. What's your opinion mate?
Also heard he is a good operator. He was being trained under Richo to take over in 2 years. Despite being a good operator I worry he doesn’t have the rugba loig background and gravitas to properly deal with the Isaac Moses of this world

I'd guess your number 1 would be Guru Snr Staggs. I absolutely agree they were our best 2. Eric did miss a lot of games through injury though. Who will ever forget the time he got injured running out to start the game. 😁.
In my humble opinion I can't split them. Such a pitty Semi was lost to us at his peak.

Guru was interviewed and he revealed he suffered from severe anxiety, and more often than not he would feigned injury due to his anxiety, that dressing room “injury “ was a perfect example, I’m surprised not more people know this
