It’s just as likely a ploy to have us/Drags up offers. If it works once….Seen on Youtube that KK could stay as Souffs have matched Eel's offer. Also said his manager used Eels to get bigger offer from Souffs!

Except it’s also not a product that’s being auctioned. The players (and clubs) know that once they’ve signed a contract that they then also have to work with the person who just try to screw them out of a few dollars. Most times it’s fine, other times if you’re going to change your offer you’d better have a good reason why suddenly you think a player is worth moreThat’s how auctions work. It’s not some Machiavellian intrigue. The clubs start with a lower offer than their best and the player manager knows this, so he lets them up their bids until everyone hits their max offer. Theoretically the highest bidder might’ve been able to go higher, but why start there when you don’t have to?
The players know the clubs have an artificially limited budget (the salary cap) and surely won’t hold it against them for trying to maximise the level of talent they can assemble under that cap. Every dollar they give the player is a dollar unavailable for strengthening the rest of the team. It is up to the player to decide if he’s happy with an offer. If the club needs to go higher and they decide they can, it doesn’t mean they lowballed him. It means they’ve had to sacrifice some other future player to pay him more.Except it’s also not a product that’s being auctioned. As I said, most of time no issue. But if a player comes to club asking for $X and the club says sorry we only have 75%, then the player goes to market and gets offered $X and then the original club comes back with $X, it’s a legitimate question by the player for why now and not earlierThe players know the clubs have an artificially limited budget (the salary cap) and surely won’t hold it against them for trying to maximise the level of talent they can assemble under that cap. He stays at the Titans or goes to an elite club ala Roosters, Broncos, Melbourne to win comps. The Tino sweepstakes will be interesting.
Perth obviously have the blank cheque and his brother but will his Tits time scar him from trying to lead an unsettled team?
He knows the Scum club but will it be the same club he returns to?
If us, Dragons and now presumably Souths miss Keaon, do they go even harder for Tino?
Or does Tino see out his contract?
Dude you can just leave it as thatI think it’s a non issue
So we shouldn’t bother then?He stays at the Titans or goes to an elite club ala Roosters, Broncos, Melbourne to win comps.
A player of his calibre doesn’t leave Titans where he is captain and paid a shitload for another basket case like them such as Dragons/Parra.
I’m flatteredDreaming of you think
We need to explain our positions or they are worthless.Dude you can just leave it as that
Not personal at you mate. Just think we have absolutely no chance of attracting elite players via recruitment. I’m not positive of any pursuit of a top play with our shithouse R&R team. We are embarrassing. So we shouldn’t bother then?

As you would say, they’re just stupid footballers. Not all of them are going to consider anything beyond what they are paidWe need to explain our positions or they are worthless.
In the case of a player who gets the club’s best offer straight up, how can he have any confidence that they will build a competitive squad that way?
That’s why they have managers, plus plausible deniability for extorting their club for every last cent. If Koloamatangi really loved Souths he’d take what they’re offering so they can build a stronger squad and compete for a premiership. As you would say, they’re just stupid footballers. I get you but we can’t blame MON for failing if we think players just won’t sign with club. Not personal at you mate. Just think we have absolutely no chance of attracting elite players via recruitment. I’m not positive of any pursuit of a top play with our shithouse R&R team. We are embarrassing.
In saying that of course I hope someone is desperate enough to come to Parra that will actually help us get better.
Brother we’re going off on different course here. It may be one active player at a time, but feelings can sometimes matter. Only takes a player (or manager) to think the club didn’t believe they were worth it to open the door to signing elsewhere and without a doubt there’s been players (likely spurred on by other factors) who discount the updated offers out of spite. Of course the club can spin something as to why they’ve found the extra room but even if it is genuine, you’re still relying on the player believing thatThat’s why they have managers, plus plausible deniability for extorting their club for every last cent. Amazing how a lack of alternative options makes a bloke rethink his attitude.
