I just want to know which players or player agents were making the phone ring off the hook? The mower man Jim made it sound like decent players wanted to come to Parra. All he has signed was over the hill players or reserve grade standard looking for opportunities. Hence the reserve grade standard results over the last 3 years.

Said it before KK would be a great signing but I don’t think we are that desperate in the middle where we have to go and offer him $1m + to him for 4-5 seasons.

Dragons are desperate for a forward leader for all their young blokes. They’ve obviously offered him a deal too good to be true,
good luck to them.

I don’t like using the ‘we are okay we have young guys coming through’ tag because you never know. But I think we have a very solid pack as is and over the next 3-4 seasons we will have Tuivaiti, Ryda, Petrus and Polley pushing through amongst other and they have all been standouts in their age groups. You sign KK and you are more than likely to lose a couple of these kids.

Money needs to be invested in outside backs. Especially now that we’ve lost Russel for 27

if he is, then he’s joining a crew of players who are paid over $1m in Haas, Tino, AFB or between $900k and $1 in JFH, Paulo, Tapine, Murray, Taumalolo and Flegler.

jurbo is on over $1m and isn’t in the top 10 forwards

You’d have to say he is an upgrade on at least a few of that list, so in a buyers market how do you value him under $1m?

Strange that the club has suggested that they have made the biggest offer for a forward in club history, over $1 million per season. That’s what is concerning, make an offer like that and can’t convince a more than decent player to sign, not the first time and surely it’s an issue that needs more than a little improvement.

I didn’t either. I balked but then I looked into salary cap and if consider Jnr and RCG signed 800k contracts when the cap was 9.6 mill and it will be 12.6mill by start of 2028. 800k is the same percentage of the cap as 1.05mill
I also reckon the higher cap means the top tier players will get thrown higher increases whilst the min wage goes from like 135 - 150k so not a huge jump
