Rumours and Stuff

Some of you guys are nuts!

If Hayne were willing to come here for 750-850k we would be insane not to be all over it - especially if his mate Peatsy comes along for 450k(ish)

Hayne Norman Moses Peats would be an amazing spine, and well under 3mill leaves oodles of space to round out thr squad.

I know we need a barnstorming prop, but I am a buyer on Kane Evans filling that role. Backrow is a strength with Edwards Brown Ma'u Moeroa

IF this is true and the Dog wants to come back then it will be up to BA. IMO I get the feeling BA and the club Do not want Hayne back here under any circumstances.

Matches, players, stats, analysing plays etc. There is plenty to write about other than gossip. Mind you he's not the only one.

The entry level journos are the ones who still have their self respect.

In an industry struggling to make money, I'm guessing that the 19th century technology of the newspaper has finally worked out that gossip sells more newspapers than football games.

Well we shall how he goes. Hopefully he does well.

I should provide some stats to make it legit:

Kane Evans
2017
29 runs 273m (in 3 games)
[don't have the per game for this season readily available, but grab your calculator]

2016
played 23 games
averaged 9.22 runs and 81.65m per game
22.39 tackles per game

2015
played 26 games
7.61 runs per game 77.52m per game
18.91 tackles

2014 (debut year)
9 games
5.22 runs per game and 57.44m per game
14.89 tackles per game

I've not gone into the fine detail, but guessing that his minutes were highest in 2016 (based on tackles per game).

Seems to be an impressive meter maker? But is yet to kick a field goal in his first grade career, so not sure Nathan Cayless would approve?

You speak truth kemosabe. Murdoch is pouring over the numbers to see how they can generate cash from all these clicks whilst merkins push back on having to pay for content.

Yeah that's great, now have you got Lussick's stats at Manly for the years prior to him coming to Parra, as my original comment was about comparing the two

Can obviously discount 2014 as a rookie, 2015 he played all (?) games so showed some decent improvement there. Roosters were shite last year so hard to gauge where he was at, but so far this season his meterage is up (except down on first 2 seasons, less runs more outliers perhaps? Plus Roosters were less shit in those years). I will put trust in BA that he sees something in Evans or has a plan for him

Can you provide Lussick stats for 2011-12?

My recollection is a bunch of 5-7 hitup 30-50m games punctuated by a game in 10 where he makes 10m per run. He was bog average as a runner of the ball (7-8m per carry). His thing was supposed to be defence, where he would lead the charge and plant a hit. Seemed to bring that same form to the Eels? Performing well 1 in 10?

Has found a bit more consistency in the last year or so for the Eagles.

I don't think he is a good comparison for Evans, who is a guy who is best as a ball runner, tending to make that 10m per run on a very consistent basis (which is elite level isn't it?)

The hype around Lussick was far far greater.
Evans has a lot of potential. One issue is gives away a lot of penalties.

average minutes pg,

2015 - 27.2 played 23
2016 - 34.3 played 23
2017 - 25 played 3

for the supercoach players out there

PPM
2015 1.4
2016 1.1
2017 1.5

this is up there with the coen hess's and Nelson AS for production, and suggests being ready for a starting role.

I gotta say, a backline of below would be enticing...

3 Jennings
4 Hayne
5 Gutherson

7 Moses
