Which is odd, because defence is probably close to 60% if not more of what a prop does on the field.

In an average set from a kick return the first 3 hit-ups are covered by backs. It isn't usually until the 4th tackle that a forward touches the ball.

What gouldy fails to recognise as you point out below is that you want different types of forwards. What we want in Mannah is: line speed, defensive positioning, and a captain. Why would we need to use Mannah on a hit-up when we have 8 other players who are better at running the ball than he is?

As Pou likes to say. You can choose who you give the ball to.
Do you think Pou actually likes to say that or rather feels he has to because alot of posters on here don't understand?

Alvaro plays Tims role and Terepo is better then both. Run with grunt and great defender.

Jwh or Klemmer only?
Here are a few others who are good in both areas.

Graheme,woods,Rcg,Tamou,Vaughn,
Bromwich,packer,glasby,M.Scott, sims,blair,mguire,napa,wallace,James

Those are the two examples I picked so I didn't have to list 8 props you f**king hazelnut. And your list is pretty shit anyway.

Woods is a schoolgirl, RCG is run of the mill in defence and only makes about half as many tackles as minutes, Tamou is a plodder this year, Packer is no standout at 90m per game and about one tackle every two mins....you're absolutely kidding with Sims, 80m and 20 tackles a game, Alex Twal is already better than that plodder. Blair isn't much better, in fact his stats match Mannah's pretty well. Glasby is an absolute pillow.

So basically you've picked a list of props completely at random, once again demonstrating your cluelessness. As does your continued and ridiculous overrating of a good squad player in Terepo.

Im just telling you whats wrong with our squad.
Tims fine. If we had Napa and JWH starting with Tim off bench.
In our pack we have Terepo and Alvaro who can play his role.I think both are better players.
Look at what the top sides have.

Most dont have pint size winger, half.
With Hoffman back on team we have another guy who is small.
Compare it to the roosters storm or broncos 1-7.
Its a power game. If we want to win with our squad we need to play flamboyant footy not grinding with bigger stronger more physical teams ffs
And we'll never be like the Mighty Penruff Pamfers. Right?

I wanna see all the other teams 6'4" 120kg halves and wingers.. I never seem to catch them when I'm watching games on telly, they must be on their RDO that day..

Mannah = Captain :smiley:

Off a penalty, kick off, line drop out, props start the sets. And usually theae are the most important sets in attacking oppurtunities.

Who remembers Hindmarshs last 2 seasons? Was like watching a cripple hit it up. A shadow of the brut he once was. Sad days.
But thats footy. Guys can go from top shelf to average in 12mths.

Its a young mans game.

Glasby = current origin player.

Id swap every guy on that list for Tim.

Woods caused all sorts of problems yesterday and one of best on field .

Josh Jackson is a current origin player so using that as a criteria for quality is flawed at best.

Glasby averages 90m from 10 runs and 25 tackles a game in around 45mins. Mannah averages 90m from 9 runs and 23 tackles in under 40 mins. You rate one as a superstar and the other as a plodder. But there's no agenda there whatsoever

Actually reckon Woods goes ok and would be what we need. His stats are pretty good 160 m / 27 tackles (minimal missed) and low error rate (not sure of his mins but), all in a pretty average side. Plus he has a nice offload.

He goes missing when his teams need him more often than not. It's fine to have great stats, and they're a good guide, but I don't see the superstar value in Woods.

Bulldogs star Josh Reynolds boozy scandal at Northies, Cronulla
NRL star Josh Reynolds is at the centre of the code’s newest booze scandal after allegedly arguing with nightclub staff and fellow players during a night out on Friday.
Police were called after a female staff member first tried to eject the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs five-eighth while in the main bar at Northies Cronulla Hotel just after 11.30pm.

One witness, who did not wish to be named, said Reynolds thought the woman was a fan trying to get his attention when in fact she was urging him to leave the venue because he had drunk too much.

“This guy was just out of line, his own players were trying to get him out of the place … he kept pushing them away,” the witness claimed.

No way, the guy is an overrated nobody. Don't see the wrap in him at all.
He's a solid club player, works hard. Beau Scott is a good comparison.

Honestly I don't reckon we need to "replace" Scott as such. Brown brings the toughness with way more upside.

Brown will burn out if he doesn't have another helping him. Jackson would be perfect.

But he will have people helping him. I'm not saying we don't need to sign another forward (or replaced him from within) when Scott retires. Just that we could spend our money a lot better. Especially better than Jackson who will command big money as a bloke that NSW selectors have a hard on for.

@Stagger eel mentioned in the Ricky Stuart thread on the main NRL page (it's one of my all time fave threads that one and Saturday nights presser only enhanced it for me!) that there are some disgruntled Raiders wanting out of the joint and Paulo was not who he was referring to... Might be a handy player or 2 to swoop on if things continue to go pear-shaped in the capital
