Do you think Pou actually likes to say that or rather feels he has to because alot of posters on here don't understand?Which is odd, because defence is probably close to 60% if not more of what a prop does on the field.
In an average set from a kick return the first 3 hit-ups are covered by backs. It isn't usually until the 4th tackle that a forward touches the ball.
What gouldy fails to recognise as you point out below is that you want different types of forwards. What we want in Mannah is: line speed, defensive positioning, and a captain. Why would we need to use Mannah on a hit-up when we have 8 other players who are better at running the ball than he is?
As Pou likes to say. You can choose who you give the ball to.
