Both players only turn 30 next year so it's a bit early to talk about regression.
Are Melbourne really that much fitter than all other teams?
Amazing line speed for the entire 80 minutes even if they did jump the gun.
Amazing strength to turn virtually every tackled player on their back or facing back against the direction he came.
Amazing resiliance to fight in every tackle to land on his front facing forward and maintain the energy to play the ball very quickly.
These traits arent for just periods of the game but virtually the entire 80 minutes guaranteeing an uptempo game that none could match.
A comment was made in the telecast that one player, I think it was Kafusi, took 12 months to cope with Melbournes training schedule. There was further comment from Cam 356 re the amount of time they were away from their families due to Belamys training schedule.
Even though we won 16 games we did tend to falter often in the second half making a comfortable first half followed by an error plagued second half.
The Cougar is gone. We definitely need an upgrade in this area. Fingers crossed we recognise how far Melbourne are ahead of the game in this area and look to emulate their deeds.
pretty sure he said the same when leaving the DragonsThe old "I have not spoken to any club, but not saying if my manager has" trick.
Mannah turns 40 next year. Both players only turn 30 next year so it's a bit early to talk about regression.
Mannah's tackles per minute are among the best in the NRL (Alvaro was number one of any player to play more than two games) and his metres per run were second in our team only to Vave.I thought Mannah did ok this year. Yeah no superstar and obviously has peaked but BA has him playing a specific role.
His stats for around 32.5 mins (a guess), aren't to bad 23 tackles / 90 m.
Additionally is there any link between Mannah playing the majority of his mins in the first half and our good first half performances/start to the game compared to our second half where his game time is limited ....................
Mannah turns 40 next year.
He's a plodder and because we have persevered with players like him is one of the reasons why we haven't won anything for 32 years.Mannah's tackles per minute are among the best in the NRL (Alvaro was number one of any player to play more than two games) and his metres per run were second in our team only to Vave.
Mannah is still a solid first grader, and every team needs several of those.

We are notorious for keeping favourite sons for a season or two too long. Hindmarsh, Vella, Burt and Cayless are prime examples.
So given their mutual selection for Italy in the RLWC, who is more worthy of the Italian Stallion moniker - Alvaro or Brown?
Yet Mannah is one of our best middle forwards, second in both defensive workrate and metres per run. He's a plodder and because we have persevered with players like him is one of the reasons why we haven't won anything for 32 years.

That would only be the case if all our middle forwards had high work rates. What that tells you is that opposition teams run straight at us.

We need better middle forwards then.Yet Mannah is one of our best middle forwards, second in both defensive workrate and metres per run.
Moylan will go to the Sharks, fall out with the coach, then leave for the Eagles?
