I'm calling bullshit on the Cronk thing.
When has the lurker ever got anything right
At least once.... if he releases scoops linking him to every Sydney club and one that he will retire !

If the NRL introduced the ability to roll over unused cap then shit-to-mid tier teams might finally have a mechanism beyond TPAs to compete for genuine super stars without completely crippling the balance of their roster. Newcastle, for example, with all their ample cap space left for next year wouldn't have to throw it at whatever dross is left on the market and could stock pile a true war chest for the 2019 player market.
For reference, franchises in the NFL are required to spend 95% of their cap over a four-year period. This prevents constant hoarding of funds but allows (in conjunction with the draft to be fair) the rubbish clubs (except Cleveland, who are a special kind of bad) to rebuild relatively quickly given good administration.
It wouldn't work 1-to-1 in the NRL given that most clubs here are not the financial powerhouses of their American cousins but introducing a modest salary cap floor and the ability to roll spare cap space over could have some merit here.
The NFL model is vastly more complex than the NRL with stuff like compensatory picks, guaranteed/unguaranteed salaries (a hugely unhealthy thing for players mind you), trades and the draft. Of all that the other thing that might have interesting avenues to explore is a NRL equivalent to a compensatory pick but that is something for another post.
the derper wouldn't know if a dog was up him
I am SPEECHLESS.....too good for me......
A bloke walks into a bar and orders 10 shots of whiskey. After they're poured he drops them all down one after the other.
The bartender comments, "Wow, I've never seen anyone drink that much whiskey that fast before!"
The bloke responds mournfully: "Well you would too if you had what I have."
Bartender: "I'm sorry to hear that, what do you have, if I might ask?"
"Fifty cents." the bloke answered..
"Brisbane have signed NSW under 20s playmaker Troy Dargan.
The Parramatta No.7 spent 2017 playing NYC and ISP NSW but joins the Broncos’ top 30 as a back up to Kodi Nikorima and Anthony Milford.
The 20-year-old is a former Australian Schoolboys representative and has a very handy kicking game as part of his arsenal."
"Gun South Sydney No.9 Phoenix Hunt is on the verge of joining Parramatta.
Trialling for a deal with the Eels during the pre-season, Hunt will either sign on a development deal or join their top 30.
The 19-year-old played SG Ball and 20s with the Rabbitohs before injury cut his 2017 season short."

Because there are no guarantees that any of them will become first graders.Interesting read.
Wonder why the club is chasing a 19yo Hooker when the club has the likes or Reed Mahoney, Kyle Schneider, Jed Edwards, Coming through.

I'd say it's because outside of Mahoney we don't have any dummy halves that are ready for 20's from round 1. I'm sure Schneider will come into contention but he's no guarantee quite yet and we need depth in case of injury.
