I reckon Ponga might've gone straight from NYC to NRL. But Taylor played for Souths Logan in 2015, before his single NRL appearance.

I don't think Tedesco played NSW cup either. He barely played NYC from memory.

I will be intrigued to see the stats on all of these development players at all clubs to see how many of them play NRL. Surely all 6 from each club won't move into each clubs Top 30 the next season?

I read somewhere the development contract needs to be a minimum of two years, which would mean the development squad wouldn't change for the first two years unless there were promotions into the top 30.

yeah there is a cap. dont know what it is under the new deal. I think there may now be a limit you can pay an individual player. Maybe 40/20 or Derek can confirm this
there is no limit on education payment as far as I know. So a smarter player can take a bit less in actual $$$ but have their education paid for by the club. Thus actually receiving a larger deal.
