Surprised we are looking at Sutton, purely based on his size. He is 187cm / 103kg, not really what we are looking for.

No idea how he goes but.
Why would you be surprised? That is exactly the size of middle forward Arthur’s likes. If he has decent lateral movement and work rate, and he can use the ball, he will fit in perfectly.

Rips in too, plays above his weight. Given some of lazy merkins we seem to have in the squad could be as much to do with his attitude as his size.

Different game of course once you get here

One game actually, and their team scored one try.

True dat, but I thought I'd give you an extra match. Regardless. They blitzed 2 of the heavy weights of the competition and they did it in real style. The spine, hell the whole team purrrrred like a kitten.

We on the other hand played like a team of Wonders, Stevie that is.

Serious question.

Did we overachieve last year?
Probably, and it covered over the cracks so BA over-estimated our forwards and discounted the loss of Semi for this year. The cracks appeared when Cowboys and Roosters flogged us and especially when Knights beat us well, their unheralded pack dominated ours. People then say that we, but for the help of the refs for Storm, almost beat them in the finals. But the result the following week would have been the same. We would have been beaten because our pack is not good enough to perform above themselves 2 weeks in a row. Its not just me that wants big forwards, every coach, bar BA apparently, wants them and because of them they become more successful and consistent.

Imo the loss of Semi is our biggest loss and we haven't covered his loss with better, bigger forwards which is massive. No other winger in history has won games virtually on his own and scored so many long range tries as he has. He'll be sorely missed by not only us but RL in general.

The Tigers have scored a try per match and you think their strength is their spine?

How do you reckon Sunday would’ve gone with Radradra in the team? Actually, how do you reckon bigger forwards would have gone with 39% possession?

I wonder if Glenneel has mad a post over the past three ywars without mentioned big forwards... Talk about a broken record. It's miserable too, it's like listening to Mad World on repeat...

Of course, but we already have similar middle forwards in Brown / Scott / Alvaro / Mannah / Peni

Struggling Eels to sign English prop

Shell-shocked Parramatta are considering making an immediate move to sign English prop Ryan Sutton in a bid to add some much-needed starch to their pack.

Sutton has been given permission to negotiate with NRL clubs by Wigan Warriors and wants to move to Australia.
Just what we need, another small prop. Pass on him, sounds like desperation to me.

Good size for our forwards. I'm sick of needing, wanting or having "big boppers" they don't work in our system. Give me workers every day of the week. Alvaro and Moeroa have been our best forwards (imo) the past 2 weeks. As long as they work hard for the player next to them in defence and constantly support the ball in attack that's good enough for me.

Bazal, unlike you I am realistic, and have seen our problem for a few years now. You live in denial and can't see the obvious, but I'm not here to help you with your delusions. Keep praising Mannah, Alvaro and Terepo but we'll never win a comp with those 3 in the team. We need to get rid of 2 and Alvaro would be the one I'd keep.

What I can guarantee that is we get a few big good quality forwards we'll be a much better team and more consistent. Generally we have good backs but they cannot do their work without our forwards going FORWARD. In 2 games so far they have been poor, very poor. They cannot rely on their opposition continually dropping the ball to make forward motion. Once Penrith fixed their handling we were hopeless. Also Manly's big men completely dominated our team and they were scoring a point a minute. They couldn't even tackle for 24 mins and were gassed.

But Bazal keep living in your world of delusion and one day you might just have a tiny grasp of the fundamentals of RL. But don't worry, there are a few like minded on this site just like you. The losers always sit together don't they?

No, we would have to sacrifice quality in other areas and end up a mediocre side like the Bulldogs.

They won 16 games last year FFS!

Mate I highlighted this in this exact spot last year re Semi. Lots of people told me they "won't miss his mistakes" etc but it was crap. He is missed massively. I disagree with you slightly though when you say he won games virtually on his own because I think he didn't but he could absoloutly pull those amazing tries out of the bag but more importantly he got our sets moving on the front foot and quite often also attracted penalties coming out of trouble as defenders struggled to handle him.

All of this on top of the fact he would often ( every couple of sets) take 2 hit ups in a set so he was in fact like another prop. I've said it before but now its useless. We should have paid him the big dollars.

This is also the fact I have harped on about the fact Hayne should be on the wing. He would be a revelation there again and give us plenty of spark. He could go roaming when he felt he wanted to just like Semi did / was told to.
