French's other position, wing, he also has to perform kick returns.
Where would you play him?
French's other position, wing, he also has to perform kick returns.
It is no secret that once he was moved to the wing last year he looked better and so did we with a bigger frame at fullback. Simple.
First I reckon Auva'a takes Hoffman's spot though. But if we're not going too well after that he could well be under pressure. When Guthersons back it might be interesting for Bevan.
Exactly ... i reckon wingers do even more than fullbacks these days .... he will 100% be targetted by any decent team .... and he is actually more isolated on the wing and less likely to be able to pass to a teammate to take the kick returnFrench's other position, wing, he also has to perform kick returns.

Not saying that means he cant be there, but the kick return argument is a bit pointless

Well someone's gotta bring the ball back. Are you gonna do it? I didn't f**ken think so!!Exactly ... i reckon wingers do even more than fullbacks these days .... he will 100% be targetted by any decent team .... and he is actually more isolated on the wing and less likely to be able to pass to a teammate to take the kick return

they could chose to different and refuse to do itWell someone's gotta bring the ball back
That's more likely to happen on the wing FFS. When teams aim to trap teams on their line they kick to the corners where the best kick chasers are.Regardless of Hayne making huge metres atleast we won't be starting half our sets getting pushed backwards, the downfall of French at the back is majority of the time he is getting pushed metres back and we don't start any sets with any sort of roll forward.
He can do that job on the wing, plus he could last for 80 minutes.Exactly. If he can get back to the 30m line on a kick return (no matter how slow he seems to be running), not get dominated, get up and play the ball then he has done his job.
The only top eight team with a big fullback last year was Manly. The other sides had these fullbacks:It is no secret that once he was moved to the wing last year he looked better and so did we with a bigger frame at fullback. Simple.
And both years we only won half our games. He won the Dally M because he got more ball at fullback, not because it benefited his team. Radradra would've won the Dally M at fullback as well.Hayne will be fine fitness wise IMO. He won’t be the energetic player that supports every play like Guth is, but he never has been and has won 2 Dally Ms for his troubles.
You're describing a winger like Mansour or Ferguson. He just needs to give us good starts to our sets, have good positioning in defence and chime into the backline as required and he will have done his job.
He can last the 80 if he strolls around in back play getting his breath back like he always did. It's not acceptable for a spine player.Although we haven't seen any evidence this year that Hayne can last the 80 there, I don't see why he can't. He has in the past and it's only getting cooler from here. It's not like he's over the hill either.
I wanna know the back three weight of the top eight last season.
His weaknesses are far more glaring on the wing. Maybe people don't notice them because he's a great finisher? Merkins used to always ask why Nathan Merritt couldn't get a run in Origin. Then he did. And unlike French he didn't have the attacking skills for fullback. Was about to say the same thing. He played there nearly all last season and has lost weight this year.
Bevan is yet to prove himself as a complete NRL player Wing or Fullback. Unsure why people see him as a lock in.
The sound labia majora make when a queef passes between them.you like fppty?
We were a very badly managed club during his time here at fullback. Ascribing the team's results to his performance or paypacket is a fairly long bow. He only played for one club so the sample size is low.He can last the 80 if he strolls around in back play getting his breath back like he always did. It's not acceptable for a spine player.
