We have had two straight games with less than 45% possession. That won't last.

Why not? The Cowboys consistently have more than 55% of possession. Why can't a team consistently get 45% or less of possession?

Why does possession matter anyway? The Melbourne Storm had less than 50% possession in 3/4 of their games last season, yet only lost 4 games all year.

Well if you want to compare us to two teams that manage to fit half a dozen Origin players under the cap you won't get any from me. They have better squads than we do. There's no denying that. But 48% and 49% possession is as good as even (only 2-4% different than your opponent). It is very different from tonight's 44% possession, which represents a disparity of 12% from our opponent.

I'm sorry to say this but things wil only get worst. I know your all king Gutho fans, But his return when ever it will be will cause more headaches and an unknown futures for a lot of them.
We have a lot of players who are very similar in stature, build ect,

Backs - Gutho, Bevan, Hoffman -
No size, All lean, kick returns and helping our forwards bye starting the set in our own end & getting us on the front foot with devastating runs and getting a good roll on all ways helps. Just exactly what Radradra did, But unfortunately none of these players offer that.
If rumours are correct I don't think Mansur is the answer to our problem.
Guys like - Full back - Hayne - Norman - Munster (Melb off contract end 2019)
Wing - Rapana (Can off contract end 2019) Val homes (Sharks end 2019) Fusit'u (Nz end 2019)
Waqa blake (Pen end 2019) Oats (Bris end 2018) Uate (Man end 2018)

Middles - Mannah, Brown, Alvaro, Scott -
Apart from brown none of the above have any speed, But they all lack size and punch in the middle of the field. Exception of brown they all don't have any physical impact defensively. Not one of these players will punch through the line and get a off load for 2nd phase play or get to there front for a quick play the ball.
Players like - Pangai junior (Bris end 2018) Boyd (Raid end 2018) Paulo (Raid end 2018)
Leeson Au Mau (Drag end 2018) Llyod Perrett (Man end 2019)
Solomona (Melb end 2019) Campbell Gillard (Pen end 2019)
Fisher harris (Pen end 2019) Sam burgess (Rab end 2019) Napa (Roos end 2019)
Passi (Nz end 2019)

Edges - Ma'au , Taka, Meroa, Edwards
Again the exception on Maau no one runs a decent line, I don't know if its the halves fault as our structure is block for block but we don't hit the lead at all.
Meroa I think is now a middle player and doing his job and with contract extensions with Alvaro and brown we are now stuck with them both for years to come,
We need ege players with an off load, good line running, aggression in both attack and defence.
Guys like -
Kaufusi (Melb end 2018) Papalli (Can end 2018) Glenn (Bris end 2019) Tapine (Can end 2019)
Winterstein (Man end 2019) Fitzgibbon (Knights end 2019) Hess (Cow end 2019)
Kikau (Pen end 2019)

Just for the record other players off contract 2018 - 2019

Halves - Temare Martin (Cow end 2019) Cleary (Pen end 2019) Austin (Can end 2018)
Sezer (Can end 2018) Elgy (Tit end 2018) Tyronne roberts (Tit end 2018)
Rylie jacks (Storm end 2018) Broc Lamb (Knights end 2018)

Hookers - Garvey (Raid end 2018) Segeyaro (Sharks end 2018) Koroisau (Man end 2018)
Farah (Souths end 2018) Faamau Brown (Dogs end 2019) Iichaa (Dogs end 2019)
Slage griffin (Knights end 2019) Wayde egan (Pen end 2019)

I know the season isn't over and I for one are a passionate Parramatta supporter blue & gold till I die, I'm just frustrated at present and hope we can turn things around. I don't care about winning although its nice, I care about our structures, playing good footy but most of all playing for pride and for your mate next to you. Effort is everything.!

My other passion is our juniors and I know for certain we have plenty of good ones coming through. With recruitment for our Nrl team we just need to find the right balance, Hence why I added all players above who only in my opinion are the better ones available from a very very long list..
Would love peoples thoughts on who are realistic players we could target going forward.!

We need a power winger and another go-forward prop in the 17. The rest of our team is fine.

Leleisiuao might be the winger we need but he needs to learn how to play rugby league. We have a bunch of middle forwards off contract (Scott, Matagi, Terepo, Vave) so there should be some money for an attacking forward.

These merkins are all contracted for 2019:

1. French
2.
3. Jennings
4. Gutherson
5. Hoffman
6. Norman
7. Moses
8. Evans
9.
10. Mannah
11. Ma'u
12. Takairangi
13. Brown
14. Smith
15. Edwards
16. Alvaro
17. Moeroa

We might also need a hooker, though Mahoney could become a first grader.

Like i said before in 2017 we won those close games. We scored the same amount of tries as 2 of our opponents and yet to win.
We are off but not way off. Look at Canberra. However they are playing good footy.

I also said before this game it was interesting BA has French and Hoff on wings.
His recruitment has been odd. Mannah should be gone end of year, Scott a year to long imo and Hoffman was always a crap signing.
As much as it was nice for Hayne to return does he improve the team a whole lot.

If Bevan was to be our fullback then Gutherson is centre. And if Gutherson was fullback and Bevan on wing did we need Hayne over Auvau or Taka?
A Napa would of been much better.

Still early for Evans but gee he looks off the pace. Seen enough to know has promise but lot of work to do.

I’d offer overs for the likes of Pangai from then Broncos. Runs hard, quick, off load. He’s the type of player we desperately need instead of the absolute softies in our front row at the moment.

I think we took a risk with the AFL guy which, presently, appears not to be working.
Good clubs chase the best.
Id be looking at who does the conditioning at The Storm or Cowboys. Id also look at alternate assistant coaches. Grima is touted as a skills guru and the ex Titans guy has done sweet FA for our attack all the years hes been there. Cayless appears to offer little as well.

Mate just give Trent Elkin the gig. He is what we need and is available.

Also Geoff Toovey is available as an assistant and a ready made replacement if things go pear shaped with Arthur.

By and large the same team. The same coach. A combo that got us to a bees dick of beating the storm scum in the semis. Allow if you must, for overachieving, still we make the top 6.

There is a change and it's had an effect, it seems to have damaged team structure and more importantly team morale. It's forced positional changes and probably forced the way the team communicates on the field. An effective back line has become a mess.

The catalyst has a history of doing this but unlike last time around, it has absolutely zero form and it's a pea heart.

I think his recruitment was built around what was a very good team. A semi replacement seemed a priority and "low and behold" up pops Jarryd.

Seemed a risk worth trying. I'm depressed to say, a risk that appears not to have worked. He needs to go to Wenty, find form and work his way into the team on merit.
