what exactly did they write bout him ?

its one thing to say he actually existed and something entirely different to believe what is written in the bible, you know, walking across the water and all that

I thought Jarryd was the only one who could do that

Oh, I'm not trying to claim the "miracle" Jesus of the Bible existed. For the record, I am not a Christian. I do not believe that Jesus was the one true son of God, sent to take our sins upon him so we could be saved, who rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven.

But the guy who brought forth what was, in essence, a spiritual revolution, or revolt...? Yep, there's enough historical evidence to be pretty damned certain that he existed. And the revolution was real. All of us, whether we admit it or not, are living the spiritual revolution of the Christ.

No doubt the story has been embellished because, you know, it's theology, but the basics of the story of the Christ were most likely true.

The remembrance of Christ death and resurrection has been going on for 2000 years. We have the writings from Paul as early as the 50's AD reciting a creed used by early Christians :1 Corinthians 15:3-8 which was well within the lifetime of those who were living with Jesus at the time. This all within 20 years of his death and resurrection so any myth could have been debunked straight away and 20 years is too short of a time for legend to creep in.
Easter you are correct technically. As Christianity spread throughout Europe, naturally the Christians of the time did not want to partake in Pagans practises and such as Pagan festivals died out, they were replace by Christian celebration and from my own understanding, a lot of old pagan traditions still remain. The remembrance of Christ though has gone on since his death and is actually aligned with Passover. Christmas is the same, another pagan festival that eroded away and made way for Christmas. The birth of Jesus wasn't a celebration til much later but were in the gospels themselves which were spread out from Israel to Rome and to the world.
Jesus on hell which was often referred to Gehenna which was derived from the Hebrew ge hinnom or the "valley of Hinnom which is translated to hell which was a place for the dead outside of Jeruselum often used with imagery as a consuming fire. When Jesus was speaking his audience were the Hebrews and if often used imagery from the hewbrew texts to portray the message, to his listeners there is no doubt they knew what he was teaching and what the meanings were. We though now try to interpret through our own lens and unfortunately we don't look too hard anymore to find the real meaning of anything but will learn from a forum or quick meme. So please look into it. The events you claim are made up have very good historical backing even if you disagree with the message, it pays to understand or at least look at both sides. I came from an atheistic background and was surprised when I took in the information objectively. I don't know a lot and may no doubt be wrong so it pays to keep an open mind.

Cheers
