Other merkins had no problem reading it.
Even that statement is pretty shaky. None of those three players I'd consider better than what was already on the roster.
I do, which is why they were signed. I guess Williams was a speculator, given he had been out for so long, but Hayne and Evans both have more ability than most of our blokes. Top 17 certainties both.

His roster is built for quick sucess. I prefered Browns approach tbh.
Quick success is the only thing that will give a coach enough time to last longer than a couple of seasons. I actually feel like our failure this year will hurt our plans for long term development, or at least push them to the right.

We have 14 games to change it.... BA hasnt completelt failed yet. This is a perfect chance to see how he reacts under pressure and needing change. If unable to than not the guy for job

Pretty hard to change our structure in the next 14 games especially with our injury toll and inability to made any real roster changes.

Probably the best we can hope for is the boys keeping on putting in, we limit our mistakes and stay strong in defence. And don’t get flogged.

But our main problem attack is a lot harder to fix - this probably requires an off-season and some new recruits.

Wonder if BA will blood some rookies once it’s impossible to make the finals.

I totally get the sentiment behind a 30 player squad, which prevents the Roosters or Broncos warehousing talent. All the same, doesn’t it also restrict progress of up and coming players ?

In the old days if you had a player carving in U23s, who then quickly showed that he was too good for the plodders, he would get to warm the FG bench and get on sometime.

Now that rising star needs to wait for a season ending injury to get a spot, rather than opportunities based on form. Amirite ?

By my calculation we have space to move possibly 4 players into the top squad at present.
1. Fill spot 30 which doesn't need to be filled until June 30
2. Replace TRex (season ending injury)
3. Replace Kenny (released)
4. Replace Scott (if he has done ACL and is season ending)

Unfortunately, I think the money paid to TRex, Kenny and Scott will still count against our cap, so it may be we need to do some minor upgrades to development squad players or even just some minimum salary signings. The intricacies of the cap are not even known by the NRL until after the event these days.

If it is as many as 4 players, I would be doing this:
1) Push hard to get Jnr Paulo asap, even though he is injured. Better to get AFL guy to work on his weight loss than leave it to Ricky and Co.
2) Move Ray Stone up from Development Squad as both a reward and as a means of seeing over the remaining rounds whether he has what it takes to make it in FG.
3) Same with Reed Mahoney - fixes our lack of a hooker option and tests out Reed for the future. I know he is only 20 but Storm debuted a 20 year old last night off the bench in the hooker role and he is no bigger according to the stats then Mahoney.
4) Bring Dane Aukafolau into the top squad.

Oh and for 2019, I would be throwing the bank at Alex Walmsley, Alex Walmsley, Alex Walmsley, Alex Walmsley - say no more.

What failure? I thought you said the coach is never wrong and we the fans couldn't possibly be right? So how can we have failures? I mean that might actually mean the coach didn't anticipate something or/and didn't adjust accordingly to the forever changing conditions that exist in the NRL.

Who would of thunk it Pou? Not only have we got unexpected/unforeseen failures for this season, but they are that pronounced that by your own assessment they are so significant that they may set us back long term.

Well I'll be, so the coach did get it wrong after all. I mean in your own words Pou, our failures aren't minor, for if they were, you wouldn't feel that this season may hurt us for a prolonged period of time or at least push us to the right, which in other words, is sideways, which in other words, is backwards because if you aren't going forward when others are, then by standing still you're going backwards.

So Pou, you once again have proven that you are just full of shit and obviously very fond of walking into rakes.
