Would that be enough to get them out of the shit??

And the more they let go the more cap they will lose bringing them into the top 30.

Klemmer is the only one who would be taken at full freight.

Apparently they are already under the cap for 2019 but don’t have room to improve their squad with some depth.

If Woods is on $850k but they sell him for $600 and lichaa on $350k and they sell him for $200k (obviously all guess work), they wouId free up $750k basically close to the same as letting Klemmer go. And Lichaa is already in reserve grade.

$750k is a good amount to add some depth to their squad with some smart recruitment, for example, we had the following cheapies in our side over the last 2 years:

Brown $200k
Jennings $100
Smith $100k
King $100k
T. rex $100k
KA $100k

That’s $700k. Obviously no superstars but some top 17 players and some depth there and they still have $50k left over.

This beer is actually similar to our forwards...overrated.

Our forwards arent rated. If anything there more like VB. Not as bad as people make out......

I often wonder if VB was new and sold as a craft beer at $12 a pint how many sperm garglers would rave about it.

250 + 150 = 750?

KA would cost more then 100k.

For every Brown is 5 x Matagi,Vaves,Hoffmans.

Off course, but Hoffman was never a bargain buy, that wasn’t the reason we purchased him. Matagi was a last min purchase because Wicks left. While Vave was calculated gamble to add some size to our side.

The players I mentioned above were all purchased as depth signings apart from Brown, not as top 17 definites. While Brown was a bargain!!

Doubt it. He was signed cheap due to troubles. Doesnt mean minimum. Other clubs wpuld ofnbeen interested. I reckon he may of atrracted 200k if a clean skin but due to past maybe 130k

Minimum mentioned here:

https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp...harge-to-the-grand-final-20170915-gyi89w.html

“Smith, King and Auva'a are on contracts between $80,000 to $90,000, the minimum any player is allowed to sign for in the NRL.

Brown joined the club this year on a deal worth close to $160,000 a season”

But anyhow even at $130k it’s a bargin buy.

$600 + $150 = $750

Shouldn't it be 600+ 200? = 800k
But down 2 players.

Lichaa and Tolman make sense. Would get them perhaps 450k to spend. Woods wont get offered 600k. The Duke did a piece on it. Said worse thing is other clubs know they desperate. Its like someone trying to sell a car that needs the money. Even if its worth 600k people will low ball knowing they have to sell. Not one club will pay what any players worth

I dont believe papers....

Jnr Paulo went from 2.4 to 2.7 to 3mill in space of 4 weeks.

By the end of Sandows contract he was on 700k. And Hoppa went from apparently 500k to 800k very fast.

Papers bullshit to make story better. Everyone wants to read how stupid eels are amd how much over paid someone.
When roosters sign a guy its all about how he signed cheap just to play for them...Blabla

Huh? You don’t believe the media because they overinflate how much the eels pay, but when it is stated that someone is on minimum you dont believe it and reckon they’re on more.

Sorry yes $800k

If Boyd got $600k and Glabsy $500k or so, I reckon there is a fair chance Woods would get at least $600k by someone. He is better then both those players.

Gus is just jealous Tamou and Merrin are on $750k and he can’t shop them around for everywhere near that amount

I think people are overstating the amount the dogs will pay. I know they're rumoured to be paying a lot for Graham but it's not like they need to get rid of them this week so they can start earning points. Mbye going will free a good chunk.

Firstly source? Secondly it's bullshit that he is allowed multiple direct outlets to shitcan other clubs while being directly involved with a club.
Compare that to the NBA
https://www.sbnation.com/2018/2/6/1...tetokounmpo-win-finals-mvp-free-agency-rumors
Now $50k is a pittance to the Lakers but all the comment was praise for a player on another team and BOOM! Fine!

Heard Mbye on about $700k, and that is part of the reason they are under the pump cap wise.

In other news did anyone see the Semi news playing for the Barbarians on the weekend? His first crack for them and tore England to pieces playing centre. He scored an awesome try and set up 3 others. England didn't know how to handle him and he tore them up. Subsequently the Northern Hemisphere are now in love with him also.
Good luck to him, such a talent and its great to see him destroying teams still.

In context to this story yes....It was a feel good story for eels. When winning media loves to get behind to underdogs.
I still find it hard to beleive Brown was on 170k. He was a top17 bench player and going well and young, Heaps where excited about his potential. I reckon Fuimano would of cost souths close to 150k. I personally doubt Brown was less then 220k considering age and potential.
