Is it fair to say they have been negative influences? I’m not saying it’s not possible. But Norman is very influential in our squad, I suspect a lot more than he was in 2016 when he was off the rails. How influential are Paulo and Ferguson?

Our club should be the most successful out of all the western clubs. Our CBD is probably the second biggest out of all the clubs, certainly much bigger than Penrith. Yet its been reported Penrith has the third biggest TPAs out of the Sydney clubs. How did that happen? Is it Gus or some other influence? Also their leagues club seems much bigger than Parra. I know they bought other clubs outside of Sydney and a big club at Port Macquarie comes to mind.

You’re confusing TPAs with sponsorships. One is provided by companies wanting to use their association with the club as a marketing tool. The other is for wealthy, business-owning fans who want to hang out with footballers. The size of the CBD is irrelevant.

Taking risks on players is nothing new, look at us with Mau, Edwards and Wicks. On the whole they paid off IMO. It’s just a new excuse from the excuses king.

Some pay off and some don’t. Without these risks we wouldn’t have won so many games over the past two years. You weren’t calling them excuses then.

Him being a first grade coach doesn’t mean he should have the luxury of not being scrutinised or critised by the average punter. Just like we credit him when the team performs.

I reckon a guy who turned the corner is a far stronger influence than a guy who has never had to overcome any problems in his life.

Its nice hearing people calling others bad influences and feeling the answer is to throw them in the scrap heap rather then giving them a chance. Makes for a great society.

What development would be stunted? He’s a utility player. He isn’t perfectly suited to any position.

In that case scrap him. Only place for a utility is bench. If your not good enough too own a spot in the 1-7 you can be a 14 or move on. These guys who cant call a spot their own never amount to much. And certainly wont suceed in halves or fullback. They are specialist positions.

What a load of shit. He’s good enough at first grade level to play fullback and centre, and to fill in at 6 in a fullback-like role. The team needs to come first, not Clint Gutherson. I’m sure he’ll agree.
