Yeah Widdop looks like he needs a change of scenery... He was doing OK at the Dragons up until about the time Marshall signed with them in 2014. Seems to have gone downhill since then but I think if surrounded by the right team and the right coach (Mcgregor ain't no coach IMO), I think Widdop could be an astute signing for any club.

Strange things happen. Thsi time last year if you said the Roosters would let Michael Jennings go and come to the Eels I don't think many people would have believed that was any chance of happening. If the coming off season is anything like last year then there will be plenty of shuffling.

And maybe we sign him after November 1 for 2018... and then his manager and the Eels start pushing for an early release to get him for 2017 stating the player is unhappy a la Jnr Paulo to the Raiders (salary cap issues aside).... It does happen....

True, but maybe if we signed him for 2018, they would just let him go.

Yeah I can't see them letting him go but if they don't have a replacement.

There is a good chance Hastings going to go to us or the dragons, so if we got Widdop they would be favourites for Hastings.
