It appears we can't make our mind up whether Gutherson is a fullback, winger or five eighth, Norman a five eighth or fullback, Hayne a centre, fullback or five eighth, or French a fullback or winger. When we keep shuffling them about we bring uncertainty to each players mindset, and consequently, the game plan. All great players but we have too many square pegs for round holes.
I reckon they're all in their right positions now. Of course Gutherson isn't going to be as good as he was last year, he's coming off an ACL injury and no pre-season, mentally he's probably not confident on it even if he won't say it publicly, this year was probably a write-off for him.
French is a fullback but has to be on the wing, we just need to use his abilities better like we did against the knights. We need to use his speed more often, I'd love to see that scrum kick used more often and not telegraph it like we did on half time.
Hayne is a centre, he's been a beast there this season no need to move him. Let him focus on beating teams with his agility and strength rather than putting him in a playmaking position.
Norman is a halfback, needs to be in control of the team and getting the ball at first receiver a lot more often
