Do you believe BA would introduce such tactics?
Do you subscribe to the theory that teams are better prepared to defend our current tactics. Eg they know exactly how to defend our current plays?
My thoughts are No and Yes.
I don't subscribe to the theory that BA would or wouldn't try certain tactics. I am of the belief that he actually knows and understands the limitations of his players and to be brutally honest, I reckon most of them are actually shit (and I reckon he knows it too). Therefore his game plan and tactics are more around working to the limits of the player he has until such time as he can replace them.
If you look at the tactics we have employed over the last 2-3 years, then signings like Evans and Williams don't make sense - they are players that don't fit in the style we have been playing, therefore I think BA is/was honestly trying to introduce a new style to our play. I just think form and injuries have cruelled it this year (not saying I know what caused the loss of form).
As far as whether teams are better prepared to defend against us - if we don't offer anything different and unexpected then of course they will be.
There are reasons BA has been chasing Marty Taupou, Keegan Hipgrove, and even Blake Austin. They all bring a running game, variety and potentially surprise into our attack. This is what our forwards have been missing and what N Brown added last year but seems to have lost this year.
