Norman is doing ok in helping us score points. In comparison to Cameron Munster who's team is top of the table and one of the form halves in the comp, Norman compares ok:

Munster 3 tries, 15 try assists 17 games
Norman 3 tries, 13 try assists 18 games

Moses on the other hand....

If you are going to throw stats around, you need to include Moses's stats plus how many times a game they each handle the ball. The complaint about our halves this season is that they compete with each other to be the big dog.

Not in the top 8 teams. We have very few quality large forwards. Which top 8 team has as small a pack as ours? More to the point, who are the larger forwards in our team that are playing well each week.

Each top 8 team has at least 2-3 giants in their pack or even backs, that is a genuine NRL standard player, if not representative. We have sweet f**k all that has played well all season hence why I said, they are busted midgets.

But you just keep looking back over your shoulder to last year. I'm sure it helps you sleep like a baby at night.

As per this week's teams (excluding hookers).

Normans
Ta - 12 lba - 9. Average run meters 78. Forced drop outs 21

Moses
Ta - 6 lba - 4 average meters 49 forced drop outs 15

Terepo has 3 ts and 3 lbas

Moses prob has more upside however.

You complained that it is half Norman's fault we aren't scoring points. That is flat out untrue.

That was a swing and a miss. If Norman is blameless and it is Moses that is failing, then post the stats that show that with equal possession Norman is delivering and Moses is not.

TBH I have no allegiance to either of them, I just would like the full story.

Parra lead one key stat.

Slowest play the ball in NRL at 3.64 seconds. The Sharks are the only other team to hit 3.6 second. The rest are all seems to be around 3.51. Panthers ranked best at 3.47

This is the area we need to improve.

Moses has more upside. A chance you let him go and he becomes a star. Norman currently a better player. Last year was opposite. Moses has been quite dreadfull this season. Id argue no better then Mortimer or Robson when they played in halves here.
I have seen on plenty of occassions when Moses didnt get the result in an attacking position lose his composure and give away a stupid penalty to compound things.

I'd run with this for last 5 games.

1 Bevan
2 Hayne
3 MJ
4 Gutherson
5 GJ

We need to see where Bevan fits in. Waste on wing. If this backline works then GJ drops out for Fergo in 2019.
We can also afford to then shop MJ around and have Guth and Hayne in centres.
If Bevan doesnt we shoukd release him and let another club help the guy. We are stunting his career at the moment.
Another option that it opens also is if Guth looks good in centre and Bevans fails at fullback we may see

Hayne
Fergo
Jennings
Gutherson
GJ/Dunster

Why would Titans want Norman . They have Ash along with some young gun while Elgey sits in reserves. Sounds suss to me.

Read the article:

“The Titans would use Norman in the halves alongside Ash Taylor, which would likely mean AJ Brimson would shift to fullback where Brennan has previously indicated he will end up. ”

Elgey is off contract !!

Moses is a running 6, so is Norman IMO. I'd rather keep Norman out of the two but if we lose one so we can afford a decent dummy half and to strengthen our middle it needs to be done.

Just fast track Brown for next season and give him the whole year to learn his craft. With Moses off contract he either performs or he goes as well and we go to market for a half because I don't think Salmon is a 6.

Moses is also a 75-80% goal kicker. Other than Gutho, we struggle in that area.

Comparing Norman to Munster. Oh FFS.

If you read the discussion it was in response to a poster saying Norman is half responsible for us not scoring points. The evidence shows that Norman does plenty more than anyone else in our team towards scoring points.

In fact his stats are comparable with one of the top halves of the comp - and no one would suggest Munster is failing at helping his side score points

@Happy MEel posted all those stats the other week. It showed that Norman touches the ball more but his attacking stats were still much better as a percentage when compared with Moses' touches. He also pointed out that our number 7 (on roughly $750,000) hasn't produced a line break or LBA since round 10. We are now up to round 21. Not only that, Moses touches the ball less than Norman but has a higher number of errors. The guy is a dead set passenger

So you rate Norman over Moses (based on the stats) and prefer to keep both, Norman only or neither for 2019 ? How much of their salary do we subsidise just to get rid of one/them.

What is your contingency plan to replace one or both for 2019 + ?
