So you rate Norman over Moses (based on the stats) and prefer to keep both, Norman only or neither for 2019 ? How much of their salary do we subsidise just to get rid of one/them.

Honestly I would keep both for 2019 because (I think??) they are both off contract at the end of next year. That way we aren't paying them to play elsewhere. With both off contract at the same time, then we have plenty of options for 2020. Brown might also be ready by 2020. There are no decent halves available for next year. We would be significantly down grading

If we were to let one go I would let Moses go as long as we didn't pay more than 200k of his contract. He is only offering up goal kicking anyway.

As per this week's teams (excluding hookers).

Storm

J Bromwich 114

NAS 115

Kaufusi 109

Hoffman 105

Finucane 102

Bench Forwards:

Glasby 106

Stimson 104

Welch 110

K Bromwich 105

Eels

Vave 115

Mannah 110

Brown 107

Moeroa 112

Niukore 102

Bench Forwards:
Evans 110

Terepo 106

Taka 108

Yeah like I said, which of our big palookas is playing well? Our 2 heaviest is are fringe first graders and plays half the season in reserves. Mannah is playing well as long as he doesn't start and you limit his game time. Hardly a pack of fearsome weapons. And comparing them to the storms big boys is absolutely laughable.

As for Finucane being only 102kg, maybe when he was 20yrs, but take a good look at him mate, he is big and all solid mass.

The point is teams like the storm are big angry and ruthless. But the big part is essential if you want to be able to bully and intimidate the opposition in the play the ball. Ask C. Smith what he told his coach after what he thought was a failed season 2015 campaign.

Parra lead one key stat.

Slowest play the ball in NRL at 3.64 seconds. The Sharks are the only other team to hit 3.6 second. The rest are all seems to be around 3.51. Panthers ranked best at 3.47

This is the area we need to improve.

And you can only do that if you win the wrestle and dominate the ruck. Smallish toilers will not get you that. Especially if the other team can slow the game down to play at their tempo.

Two separate issues....size and quality.

If Finucane is understated, so is Niukore.

Not when our big forwards are crap and the top side big boppers are quality. Good big man will most always beat a good little man.

That's why we have weight divisions in fight matches. League is very similar a fight. You need to dominate through brute strength and finesse come to the fore off of that.

Also Niukore may or may not be weighted correctly, but to think that he has made much of a difference to this years results or performances is pointless. He is just happy to make his runs and tackles at this point. We won't know what he brings to the team for another season or two. But he has been solid thus far.

Where we have been lacking is from our seasoned supposedly powerful big units up front and on the fringes. They only seem to do well when the other team is in second gear and we get plenty of ball.

When the opposition click up a gear and get equal or more ball, we fall apart at the ruck and then all over the place. This has not been addressed with the inclusion of Junior and Lane.

Period.

This is true. I have a brother who was smaller than me growing up. He might have been smaller but he was 1 angry little merkin who always gave his all in a fight. Those fights usually became a wrestle where I always prevailed , due to my extra few kilo's.

You package the deal. Keep both then rissole the weaker in a dual classical blueprint move allowing n

Niakuore is a big powerfull boy. Ive said this 1000s times. Guys like Mannah and Alvaro are great and NRL standards but when their partners are Terepo who I rate and VAVE along with Bevan on wing, taka in 2nd row its a dogs breakie. Brown is awesome but hardly big. The balance is way out of wack. Sure Gower tries but another weak forward.
The balance Jnr and Fergo adds is huge. Throw in Manu for Taka and we are starting to rock and roll. Aslong as Niaukroe and Tepai take the next step in 2019 that being fringe origin quality which both capable of from what I've seen with Alvaro,Mannah amd Terepo workn butts off and it becomes a force. Browns missed half a season and what a difference he makes.

1.Hayne
2.Ferguson
3. MJ
4.Gutherson
5.GJ

8 Jnr
9 Mahoney
10 Alvaro
11 Niakuore
12 Tepai
13 Brown

14 Lane/Evans
15 Mannah
16 Terepo
17 Manu

I reckon Marata has showed a lot of improvement from his first 3 games to now. He is not a Kikau but he is powerfull and has thrust. It takes forwards atleast 20 games till get up to speed. By mid next year he will be a huge improvement to what he currently is. And currently he is already matching it with our starters.

Tepai is showing glimpses. I reckon all it will take is one break out game and he will be away. There isnt thast much diffenrent in level between him and say De bellin who is an origin player. Just consistency.
Funny thing is Marata and Tepai are same age. Tepai was bought into NRL 1-2yrs early.
Kikau wasnt NRL level at 22. He is now 23 and look at his development from 12mths ago. One of the most distructive forwards in the comp.
JFH is another. Same age as Tepai he only breaking out now. Imagine how him and Kikau would of went as 18/19ylds.

Exact same thing with me and my dad. Only this morning we argued over who was the fastest Panthers player and it ended in a wrestle where I pinned him down.

D Ritchie just said he reckons Corey to the Tits, and that we might pay half his salary. That's a lot of money if he's right. Sounded like he was making up numbers though.

No club is going to do us a favour by taking him anywhere near full freight, particularly when it's common knowledge that BA wants him gone.

I really find it hard to believe that 15 100ths of a second make that much of a difference.

My pick for the Immortals tonight is Daily Messenger and Brian Bevan.

But in reality, they will pick Daily and Provan or Daily and Maninga.
