There was a tip-off from a punter on social media earlier this week that renowned player agent Wayne Beavis had been spotted meeting Cronulla chairman Dino Mezzatesta.

NRL Leaks can reveal the mail was good.

Premiership-winning Sharks coach Shane Flanagan, who is managed by Beavis, is set to receive a new two-year offer from the Cronulla board, which to everyone in league land would seem a no-brainier.

The Sharks have enjoyed their most successful period in the club's history under Flanagan, who has led Cronulla to seven of the past eight finals series.

By re-signing Flanagan, the Sharks will also be able to ensure they hold onto some of the game's hottest young talent of whom the head coach has helped foster in the club's elite academy including Briton Nikora, Jayden Brailey, Bronson Xerri and Flanagan's son Kyle.

Our biggest issue is the forwards...

No, our biggest issue is that some of our best players from last year were liabilities this year. In 2016 and 2017 our edge forwards were excellent. Obviously Edwards is gone and Ma'u missed a lot of footy this year.

I dont agree with that! Moses & Norman may have been shit but to be a consistent team we need forwards to be consistent...

When the shit hits the fan in a game our forwards need to lift their game and work us out of the "hole" We have no leader in the forwards to lead anyone out of anything...

When the shit hits the fan in a game our forwards need to lift their game and work us out of the "hole" We have no leader in the forwards to lead anyone out of anything...

Last year we had Brown. This year he struggled with form and injury. Obviously better attacking forwards will improve our attack, but the nature of attacking forwards means that they are likely to make our defence worse. Hopefully we can control the ball better and then poor defenders will be less of a problem, as they were for the Cowboys this year.

Last year we had Brown and Ma'u. This year they missed almost 20 games between them. Edwards was a big loss in attack as well. Obviously better attacking middle forwards will improve our attack, but the nature of attacking middle forwards means that they are likely to make our defence worse. Hopefully we can control the ball better and then poor defenders will be less of a problem, as they were for the Cowboys this year.
