and Vice versa....
You mean that SG Ball halfback who just got picked for the Qld rep side?he also f**ked Yoko Ono
true, but putting too much bulk on his frame will slow him down. Hayne ran something like 4.53 for his 40 yard sprint and that was barely mediocre. One of the reasons he would be 'too small' would be because his body is conditioned to play fullback in the NRL, where endurance is far more important than size. So he could gain plenty of muscle if he didn't need to work as hard on the field as an NRL fullback.
What exactly is Holmes going to be trying out for? I didn't bother to read the article but I'm assuming it probably doesn't say anyway, there's no way he could be a running back, he's too small, I don't see him making it, the only thing Hayne had going for him was his size + his step, and to a lesser extent his speed, Holmes doesn't have all that, and what he hasn't isn't fully marketable to the NFL. Besides I think the NFL is probably over the gimmick of "let's get a star from overseas to play on our team" by now.

Well just like Hayne, I don't think he expects to go there and be a star. He just wants the experience for his bucket list.I watch NFL. RB is the most cut throat position. Unless your a star you are a dime a dozen and that means a few mistakes or injuries and its curtains. It also means your always being looked at being replaced with better.
Holmes has yet to make a lot from NRL. Hope he does well or atleast returns and lands a good contract.

Hayne’s athleticism is elite by any standard. He had a better time over the 40 than plenty of NRL running backs. Plus he was big.Do you think Hayne would of made it if wasn't an Aussie?
Publicity stunt.
Holmes wont make a squad.
Very much doubt Brown will be thrown into the deep end just yet, I expect Norman and Moses to be our halves but fb and hooker are problematical. French is my preferred option for fb and you'd have to say KP will be the starting hooker (since only one in top 30 - is Ray Stone an option there?) but his service needs to improve and perhaps his tackling technique should be less kamikaze. While I agree that backline is a possibility, I don’t think it’s a guaranteed just yet.
There probably as much chance as Gutho or Norman going to fullback with either Salmon or Brown coming into the line up.
Mahoney is around 178,not too far off but yeah whoever measures this stuff needs to go back to school.I don't believe half the player stats.
Remember it listed Mahoney as 180cm (Which is Laughable)
He isn't even close to that.
SI'm assuming the others are guesses as well
Only advantage he has over Hayne is he is much younger if comes back, but a huge risk. Why do the players want to play NFL? To me its like watching grass grow, an absolute snore fest. I watched the last 1 min 30 secs of the super bowl one year and 15 minutes later turned it off with 30 sec of match left. There is nothing wrong with trying new experiences and having no regrets. But there is something wrong with wasting opportunities. Unlike Hayne who was already quite cashed up after 8-9 yrs in NRL and knowing he could still return and get a few mill.
Holmes seems to be risking a lot more.
If it doesnt work out I am sure he can come back and get a nice contract but he is down lets day 1.6mill for next 2 yrs and most likely a lot less when he returns. He is risking around 2mill.

His lack of experience and instincts is what stopped him being a star, but he was still good enough for a roster spot. He took a few snaps. When he realised he would never be better than that he cut his losses and came home. How many Aussies can say they played in the NFL?
Valentine Holmes might be able to say the same one day. Does he need to score three touchdowns in a Super Bowl to make that claim? Even getting onto an NFL field is impressive. And there’s plenty of time to come back and make money.
It’s not a publicity stunt. It’s a gap year.Do you think Hayne would of made it if wasn't an Aussie?
