Thornett probably had more manners when dealing with the fairer sex too, allegedly.When you compare players of different eras you have to imagine the same training regimes, otherwise it's a pointless exercise. If Ken Thornett was a full-time professional and had the luxury of today's training methods, supplements, diets and treatments for injuries, etc, he'd be every bit as good as Hayne. Only difference is that Thornett was way more consistent than Hayne.
