I know Souths issued a statement saying otherwise but I have been told that Burgess will be released to us tomorrow. dont know how true it is I’m
More inclined to go with the statement by Souths but my mate is connected to Souths and has been correct before. Let’s see.....

Time will tell... however if he’s counting on loyalty from an NRL club and in particular, Bennett, he should chat to Petero.

Turning down an offer like that is mind boggling unless he has another one tabled.

Why would we want to pay him 400k then 700k and 700k if we sre under cap by a bit.
Wouldn't be best to pay him 650 + 575 +575 ?

Maybe will. The media wouldn't know the exact details of his contract - just rough estimates of the overall amounts. I reckon he'd be a damn good signing at that price. Current English international and a guy, who if eligible, would probably stroll into the origin arena. We haven't had one of those in the forwards for ages. Good on the Eels for having a go.

He could be thinking one more year at Souths then go back to England? He'd command a pretty high price over there, wouldn't he?

He probably would stroll into the origin arena but it would be extremely doubtful he would still be holding onto the ball when he does.

Not So sure, the salary cap in Super League Is I think £1.9 million, don't think they would pay him a significant portion, that's why we are seeing a number of them coming here, and even living in Canberra.

Right. I thought it was much more than that. Thanks for the info.

Burgess only made 7 errors last year -does that mean he only dropped the ball a maximum of 7 times (along with other errors)?

Doesn’t seem that high.
