Just stating the reality. If Cronk was going to be the next big thing in coaching he would go to a stable club with more to offer than just the biggest whinging supporter base in Sydney.

Well our greatest success came from when we hired two of the best coaches this club has ever had, in Terry Fearnly and Jack Gibson and it has been mostly down hill ever since. We need to be pro active and ahead of the curve when hiring coaches otherwise we end up with the Walters of this world and mediocrity. We should always go for gold(the best). Nothing short of that ever from now on.

Otherwise nothing will ever change long term. Ever.

I believe he has to pass some coaching course first and be registered as a coach before can actually coach. Left field thought which has some merit.

Of course and yes I understand it is a left field idea, but I think if he committed to it, he would put so much of himself into it and that a Cooper Cronk working harder then he ever has would reap great rewards for all concerned. He is a natural leader and communicator. He has the work ethic of a Bellamy and the brains to go beyond if he wants to go down that path. TV is the only real obstacle that I can see.

Peter Sterling says hello.
When Pete finally dipped his toe in the water with Daley and SOO he was never invited back again. Those bandy, white legs in a pair of shorts had him lose all respect.

It is interesting that we were able to spend so much on staff and players for that brief period of our history, and I wonder if it’s a coincidence that we felt the need to seriously tighten our purse strings in the years immediately following that spending spree.

I see the Manly club as being in a very similar situation now as we were in the early 90s, trying to cover the bills they racked up during the preceding period of success.

I think that that had to do with Fitzgerald's mismanagement overall since we were always one of the top ten profit leagues clubs in the Country throughout that period. Don't forget he also squandered around 10 million on that failed enterprise the Parramatta Power. Very ordinary real estate ventures and the like.

The man may have been tough as nuts and a political animal but his overall business acumen was hardly stellar. Dare I say if we had someone like Politis running our club all this time where we would be and the asset based and investment portfolio that he would have accumulated over the same period would now have us owning half of Parra ffs. Imagine with the money the leagues club was making back then with the favourable tax laws that existed at the time and the difference in price between Parra and the eastern suburbs? He could have bought up big in a strategical way.

Well anyway, mismanagement has virtually always been our problem on and off the field not player(juniors) or shortages of money. Politics and mismanagement.

Broncos fans get pretty feral when they miss the finals, which for a club with so many advantages is the equivalent of winning the spoon in Sydney.

Parramatta have many advantages also.
*one of the best and long history of success in it's vast jnr base.
* Rich league's club backing
*Central Sydney location and corporate advantages through its large city.
* best stadium in Sydney.
* huge fan base

Our tpa's will climb as we ditch the bad boy culture.

Missing the 8 is definitely like winning the spoon in my opinion.
The problem with people like pau pau is, they've become accustomed to losing, and have become happy losers.
We should never accept anything less than top 6.

I have never agreed with you more. We should be the premier team in this city and it has become a cruel joke on all of us that we have been and still are far from it.

No matter what abused and broken fans like Pou think, we have ALL the ingredients and resources to be the best Souffle in town. But instead of rising to the occasion, pesky arse wipes keep opening the oven door to steal our spectacular and dazzling delight before it can rise to be the envious oh ah marvel it should have always been. So far our ramekin has just been covered in a flat lump and at times burnt inedible mess that Pou, if he were totally honest with himself, would find hard to swallow and eat.

Everything you got and the Greek Islands plus a Saturday night souvlaki spread for the rest of his life.
Exactly. We’re never going to hire someone like that and they won’t be running for the board while ever the constitution allows a 200 man faction to hold the balance of power.

Yep, we’re not just in Parramatta, we’re in Sydney, and importantly, the central part where most other clubs border our territory. They can poach our players and the merkins don’t even need to move house. The Dogs and Tigers face similar challenges and both are also on the decline.

What chief is trying to say is we have the foundations to be a powerhouse, both on and off the field. And he’s right. What we need thou, is consistent success over a number of years and watch the corporates line up. What we’ve dished up over the past decade, is a bloody disgrace. We’ve been the laughing stock of the league for far too long now. We’ve cleaned up our act off the field to a degree, all we need now is 3 top 8 finishes over the next few years. .

So, what does 'not accepting' anything mean?

We may have a large fan base, but they're also the stupidest in world sport (maybe some Philadelphia fans are a bit dumber). I don't see what 'corporate advantages' that we get relative to other Sydney teams.
